Summary of Job Duties:

The Education Coordinator manages the day-to-day issues related to the Practice of Medicine 2 course in the medical school curriculum and serves as the Program Manager for the Post-Baccalaureate MSiPH program. The tasks associated with managing these courses include project planning, recruiting community preceptors, working with the course directors, course scheduling, classroom scheduling, course testing, reporting various aspects of the Practice of Medicine curriculum, working closely with the post-baccalaureate program director, coordinating faculty schedules within the course, and providing reports to the Curriculum Committee on the courses.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree plus three (3) years of coordinating education programs in a higher education or health professions setting or

  • Associate's degree plus five (5) years of coordinating education programs in a higher education or health professions setting required.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Experience and proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Blackboard are essential.

  • Ability to learn new instructional platforms and adapt to a changing educational environment.

  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in management and/or evaluation of educational programs.

  • Experience in WorkDay. Experience in grants management.


Additional Information:

Responsibilities:

  • Designs, develops, and managesthe day-to-day functions of the Practice of Medicine II, the Post baccalaureate Program, and M4 POM II longitudinal Student Educator courses.

  • Manages the post-baccalaureate MSiPH admissions process.

  • Assists the course directors with course and classroom scheduling, course examinations, and answering student questions about course activities.

  • Assists with scheduling faculty for the courses, maintaining the course electronic gradebook, and producing reports about the courses for the Curriculum Committee.  

  • Recruits, coordinates, and manages the Practice of Medicine II Clinical preceptors and student assignments.

  • Ensures that preceptors are properly credentialed within the UAMS system.

  • Organizes preceptor orientation.

  • Prepares and updates preceptor guide, and communicate with preceptors concerning student performance.

  • Manages lecture materials, maintain Practice of Medicine II grade book, and Attendance for students in all the mentioned courses.

  • Assigns and maintains course evaluations for all the above courses.

  • Coordinates physical exam clinics and other Clinical Skills Center and Simulation Center events.

  • Prepares team-based learning materials and similar duties.

  • Coordination of POM activities with the Basic Science modules for POM II.

  • May perform other duties as assigned.
