Why You’ll Love This Role

This role will give you a true strategic seat at the table to own the people agenda for Lumentum’s Transport & Switching business, partner directly with senior leaders, and drive transformation at the heart of next-generation optical, AI, and cloud infrastructure.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Own and lead the end-to-end people strategy for the Ottawa site supporting the Transport & Switching Business Unit, acting as the single point of accountability for all HRBP matters.
  • Translate global BU strategy into a localized Ottawa workforce plan, ensuring alignment across talent, structure, capability, culture, and cost.
  • Act as the primary HR advisor to the Transport & Switching leadership team, providing strategic counsel on organizational design, talent strategy, succession planning, performance management, and workforce optimization.
  • Translate business strategy into integrated people strategies that enable growth, innovation, speed, and execution excellence.
  • Proactively identify organizational risks and opportunities; recommend and implement solutions aligned to business outcomes.
  • Serve as a thought partner to BU leaders on scaling teams, enabling productivity, and building high-performance cultures
  • Partner closely with the General Manager, VPs, Directors, and senior technical leaders in Ottawa to shape org design, leadership capability, and operating effectiveness.
  • Serve as the trusted advisor and coach to Ottawa site leadership, providing candid counsel, data-driven insights, and pragmatic solutions.
  • Lead site-wide initiatives across workforce planning, succession, leadership development, performance management, engagement, and retention.
  • Anticipate and address site-specific talent risks (critical skills, attrition, bench strength) and implement proactive mitigation strategies.
  • Act as the primary escalation point for complex employee relations, performance, and organizational matters at the Ottawa site.

What We’re Looking For

Education:
bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business, Organizational Development, or related field; master’s degree preferred.

Experience]

  • 10+ years of progressive HR experience, including 5+ years in a senior HR Business Partner or HR leadership role.
  • Proven experience partnering with executive leaders in complex, global, technology-driven organizations.
  • Strong background in organizational design, workforce planning, succession, and leadership development.

Salary Range:

The base salary range for this position is $175,000–$225,000 CAD. Final compensation will be determined based on factors such as experience, skills, and qualifications.
