The Senior Engineer, Product Design and Engineering- Systems is responsible for Systems Engineering activities for New Product Development (NPD) programs and product life cycle support.

Senior Engineer, Product Design and Engineering- Systems guides the overall technical effort, in close collaboration with the Program Manager, Product Leader, and other functions, driving adoption of Systems Engineering practice. 
The Senior Systems Engineer is accountable for technical requirements, architecture definition, and risks management, enabling NPD programs execution excellence. 

He/She will responsible for:

  • Bing the ultimate technical owner and design authority on the program, and prime technical interface. 
  • Defining and coordinating Engineering resources and activities (Engineering Work Breakdown Structure - WBS) and monitor the progress of design throughout the program lifecycle. 
  • Defining and maintaining product functional architecture, product breakdown structure (PBS), physical architecture, system interfaces, requirements allocation, and their relevant verification and validation. 
  • Flowing down product requirements and identifies system and subsystem requirements. 
  • Ensuring the product development (PD) process is followed including any required technical reviews such as design reviews, risk reviews, manufacturability reviews, supply chain reviews. 
  • Reporting on program status and risk at regular intervals, perform a patents search and ensuring technical regulations are met with design
  • Coordinating with procurement for the technical content of offers evaluation and suppliers selection, adopting rigorous cost analysis practice. 
  • Supporting new product commercial team during demand to inquiry (DTI) and ITO phase. 
  • Bing the main technical interface for Customers for new product and relevant new technology. 
  • Providing timely communications to Executive Management on technical, program, organizational and resource matters. 
  • Remaining current with Systems Engineering state-of-the-art, promoting adoption and taking active part to company related initiatives (e.g. SEP board). 

Fuel your passion 

To be successful in this role you will:

  • Master's Degree in Mechanical/Aerospace/Energy/Chemical Engineering or equivalent from an accredited University or College.  
  • Proven experience in Turbomachinery engineering or Process/Plant engineering or Technology with a strong technical background
  • Proven systems engineering competencies with capability to lead projects or programs and interact with internal and external stakeholders. 
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills 
  • Strong collaboration and team building skills 
  • Excellent knowledge of at least one of the following products/solutions: Gas Turbines, Compressors, Expanders, Steam Turbines or Plant Solutions 
  • Clear thinking attitude with entrepreneur's mindset.  
  • Executive presentations skills 
  • Self-disciplined, self-starter, able to perform with a minimum of daily supervision 
  • Ability to identify a goal or objective and develop plans and strategies, strong positive attitude about performance and teamwork, Effective team building and problem solving abilities 
  • Fluent in English, written and oral  
  • EU Work Permit

  • INCOSE SEP certificate

The initial pay range for this position will be EUR 51,200 To 70,400

The provisions of Contratto Collettivo Industria Metalmeccanica e della installazione di impianti will be applied to this position. Section VI – Titolo IV of that collective bargaining agreement relates to pay.
