What You Will Do:
We are currently searching for an MRI Technician to independently provide support services to satisfy the overall operational objectives of the National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute. This is a full-time, on-site opportunity in Bethesda, MD.
Perform MRI procedures at a tech level in accordance with protocols, performing both clinical and research scans.
Maintain proper quality control procedures.
Have knowledge of regulatory requirements relating to MRI exams and equipment.
Establish and maintain effective working relationship with patients, researchers, medical staff, and the public.
Knowledge of concepts, standards, procedures, and equipment.
Be able to work extended hours when necessary.
Maintain a safe and appropriate work area.
Maintain inventory of supplies.
Adhere to employer work practices as described in Tolerable Daily Concentration (TDC) Occupational Exposure Plan policy.
Have knowledge of basic patient care and activities that may be necessary during exam.
Attend required meetings and participate in committees as requested.
Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
Work as a team member within the imaging department and all other departments.
Document work processes as required.
Perform other duties as assigned.
What You Will Need:
Completion of an accredited Radiology program, in lieu of a university degree
A minimum of EIGHT (8) years of experience, at least ONE (1) year of which is specialized MRI experience.
Ability to obtain a Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
What Would Be Nice To Have:
Knowledge of current medical terminology.
Knowledge of imaging techniques to perform routine tests.
Knowledge of imaging equipment and testing to perform quality control checks and troubleshooting of instrumentation.
Ability to communicate effectively in the English language in person, by phone and in writing.
Previous experience with National Institute of Health (NIH) preferred.
