UK Media Director 
London (Battersea) / Hybrid - 3 days per week from our brand new EMEA HQ in the Battersea Power Station Development 

We are seeking an experienced and strategic Media Director to lead and develop our UK media strategy, planning and activation throughout the full funnel and across a wide range of channels. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of the UK media landscape and a proven track record in leading media teams to deliver effective campaigns that drive business results. You will be responsible for managing the agency relationships, overseeing the development and execution of media plans, and ensuring that our media campaigns achieve maximum impact and commercial results.  

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Media Strategy Development: Create and implement media strategies that align with our commercial objectives and target audiences.  
  • Team Leadership: Lead and inspire a team of media planners, providing mentorship, training, and development to junior staff members. 
  • Campaign Management: Oversee the end-to-end media campaign process, from initial planning and budgeting to execution and optimization, ensuring campaigns meet KPIs  
  • Agency Liaison: Act as the primary point of contact for our agencies, managing relationships and working in a collaborative partnership  
  • Analytics & Reporting: Monitor campaign performance, analyze results, and provide actionable insights. Use data to optimize future campaigns and share performance regularly  
  • Innovation: Stay up-to-date with the latest trends, technologies, and innovations in the media and advertising sectors, including digital, social, and programmatic media, and leverage these to enhance campaign performance. 
  • Budget Management: Oversee media budgets and ensure that campaigns are delivered on time and within budget. 
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with other teams, including creative, digital marketing, and data analytics, to ensure that media strategies integrate seamlessly with overall marketing initiatives. 

Key Skills & Qualifications: 

  • Experience: At least 8-10 years of experience in media planning, buying, or management, ideally within an agency or client facing.  
  • Leadership: Strong leadership skills, with experience managing a team and working collaboratively with other departments and clients. 
  • Media Expertise: In-depth knowledge of all major media channels, including traditional and digital (TV, radio, print, display, programmatic, social, etc.). 
  • Analytical Skills: Excellent ability to analyze data and use insights to inform decisions and optimize campaigns. 
  • Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex information in a clear and concise manner. 
  • Technology Proficiency: Familiarity with media planning and buying tools (e.g., Xandr, MediaOcean, Nielsen, etc.) and analytics platforms (e.g., Google Analytics, Social Media Insights). 
  • Qualifications: A degree in Marketing, Advertising, Business, or a related field is preferred. Additional qualifications or certifications in media or digital marketing are a plus.

  • Proactive and solution-oriented with a passion for media innovation. 
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. 
  • In-depth understanding of the UK consumer market and media trends. 
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
