Job Description

Summary Provides system and data support to the Global Quality, Regulatory Affairs, Operations, Procurement and R&D organizations by performing the following duties.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Maintain various components of IFS system to support Supply Chain processes.

  • Core participant in the cross-functional rework and disposition team to effectively expedite rework opportunities, minimize on-hold inventories, and reduce scrap. This involves cross-functional collaboration with Supply Chain, R&D, Regulatory, and Engineering to effectively expedite rework opportunities and minimize On-Hold and Expiration Costs to AFB.

  • Monitor, maintain, and report on out of FIFO and expired inventory.

  • Conduct new part set up within the IFS system in a cross-functional capacity to convert product formulation information into inventory part recipes and routes as part of sample assessment and commercialization for product development and creating new packaging code(s) of an existing product to meet customer needs.

  • Review manufacturing production schedules, to ensure correct recipe execution and application of rework opportunities.

  • Facilitate product changes that include modifying and approving IFS recipes and routes as well as collaborating with a cross functional team to ensure alignment on the change company wide.

  • Support Procurement and Operations in maintaining raw material flexibility in relation to formulation management.

  • Set product specifications and analyze finished goods data as requested to identify root cause for quality testing deviations and implement solutions to minimize on-hold material without impacting the customer

  • Ability to composite data from multiple sources/systems in the organization and create statistical visual management graphs and tools to drive business decisions.

  • Responsible for maintaining controls and documentation procedures including Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s)

  • Identify and participate on global initiatives around developing and standardizing work processes, new tools, and functional capabilities within IFS system as needed.

Qualifications

  • Required:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Chemistry, or Microbiology or other related area.  One to three or more years related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Comprehensive knowledge of liquid, spray dry, and dry blend production processes.

  • Capable of working across all boundaries to solve problems quickly and collaboratively to meet production needs of customer orders.

  • Comprehensive knowledge of restrictions and requirements for production of specific products in each of the manufacturing facilities.

  • Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal relations skills.

  • Excellent skills in MS Office Applications such as Word, Excel, Power Point and Outlook; PDF applications such as Adobe, Windows and internet based applications.

  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

  • Problem solving capabilities.

  • Proficient in the application of data management systems.

  • Basic knowledge and understanding of Food Science and Food Ingredient Specifications.
