The Program Support Assistant performs a variety of administrative/clerical support functions for the Department.

The Program Support Assistant supports our Anesthesiology Department and is responsible for managing department timekeeping and payroll and provider credentialing and enrollment. This position reports onsite in Downtown Richmond.

The VCU Health Anesthesiology is seeking a full time Program Support Assistant to perform a variety of administrative/clerical support functions for the Department. The position will involve timekeeping and payroll for the department as well as credentialing for providers and provider enrollment with payers. This position will also be responsible for maintenance of the department Website.  The person will be working under the department management team.

JOB SUMMARY

The chief objective of this position: To perform a variety of administrative/clerical support functions for the Department.

This position will primarily manage timekeeping and payroll, handle department personnel credentialing and manage/update the Anesthesiology Department Website.  They will work with the Associate Administrator and the Financial Reporting Analyst in API to managing department timekeeping and work with payroll submission tasks, as well as various general administrative tasks within the department.

Experience REQUIRED: Minimum of two (2) years of previous administrative work experience in an office setting

Previous experience with Microsoft Office applications & e-mail/calendaring

Experience PREFERRED: Three (3) years of previous secretarial/administrative work experience in a health care office setting. Previous timekeeping and Credentialing experience.

Education/training REQUIRED: (Note: work experience may be considered in lieu of credentials not required by law with HR approval. Work experience must be specific to role)

High School Diploma or equivalent

Education/training PREFERRED: Post High School coursework in Business, Accounting or closely related field

Experience REQUIRED: Previous experience with Microsoft Office applications & e-mail/calendaring
