The Head of HR will help shape the people strategy based on business priorities across the KION ITS employee group. The role is responsible for developing appropriate people strategies, business transformation, change management, and developing an engaged and enabled workforce with the necessary capabilities to achieve business goals.
The role will be a key partner in developing the people agenda, championing employee engagement initiatives, and act as an advocate for the KION ITS group. The role requires an individual to develop and implement the associated people plan, initiatives, and processes, whilst building and supporting high-performing teams. Ability to build strong and influential relationships with key stakeholders. Coaching managers to improve their impact as leaders, and enabling them to resolve complex employee cases

What we offer:

  • Develop and execute people strategies that are aligned with commercial objectives
  • Act as a strategic people team leader, providing counsel and thought leadership to the KION ITS functional leads including dedicated business partner for the service function
  • Lead and develop change initiatives that foster a high-performing mindset and culture, ensuring organisational changes are planned and implemented in a way that applies best practice.
  • Manage proactively the relationship with the Trade Union in alignment with the Head of HR – Linde position
  • Lead and mentor the supporting HRBP  providing guidance, coaching, and feedback, while supporting ER casework, absence management, recruitment activity and data collation as required. 
  • Collaborate with Senior Management to drive organisational culture and employee engagement initiatives
  • Identify, communicate and/or lead the actions needed to implement key elements of the HR and business strategy; explain the relationship to the broader organisations vision and values and motivate employees to deliver against these.
  • Continue to build on our approach to employee well-being as we further formalise our future strategy
  • Review and continually look to improve the employee life cycle, partnering with the HR specialist teams and wider KION group reviewing processes and ways of working which focus on improving the employee experience
  • Lead the cyclical performance, reward, talent and succession management processes for the KION ITS Stakeholder group
  • Advise and upskill people managers in HR-related matters in order to sustain good employee relations and provide coaching and expertise on absence, conduct, talent and performance matters.
  • Provide employee and business insights on people-related topics and defines the appropriate people plans
  • Accountable for creating and implementing a resource plan that optimises expertise that meets the needs of current and future workload

Tasks and Qualifications:

  • Proven experience of working in a senior HR leadership role
  • Degree in HR/Business or equivalent experience
  • Strong interpersonal, influencing and communication skills with the ability to form successful working relationships quickly and across all levels
  • Strategic mindset combined with strong execution skills and critical thinking with excellent learning agility and the ability and willingness to be hands-on.
  • Adaptability with the confidence to share ideas and propose solutions to senior-level stakeholders
  • Experience working within a sales/service or engineering environment
  • Strong experience in employee relations and employment law including TUPE and trade unions
  • Continuous improvement mindset; experience in improving ways of working and processes
  • Good system knowledge – workday, excel, powerpoint, Visio etc
  • Ability to problem solve and take learning from every challenge
