The Associate Curriculum Manager (ACM) oversees a team of Curriculum Developers who develop curriculum materials for state, district, and local customizations of Amplify Desmos Math. The ACM works closely with the Curriculum Manager, Curriculum Developers (CDs) and other ACMs to author and review custom editions of the print and digital components of the K-5 Amplify Desmos Math curriculum, while also collaborating with other teams (e.g., Product, Design, Editorial, Graphing, etc.). The ACM reports to the Senior Curriculum Manager for K-5 Math, Customizations and will work under the project leadership of the Curriculum Manager for a particular grade span (K-2 or 3-5 mathematics).

Responsibilities of the Associate Curriculum Manager

  • Oversee a team of Curriculum Developers who author and review print and digital curriculum materials for one or more grade levels.

  • Write and review student-facing and teacher-facing math curriculum content (lessons, practice questions, assessments, unit-level material, and other ancillary material) for print math environments for one or more grade levels.

    • Review and verify the mathematical correctness and pedagogical progression of content.

    • Review content to ensure state and/or district standards are addressed and aligned correctly.

    • Review and ensure that content is concise and the wording and amount of text is age appropriate.

    • Review and ensure that content adheres to authoring guidelines and product vision.

    • Ensure print alignment (where necessary) to digital curriculum.

    • Ensure that deliverables are on time and team documentation is kept up to date (TOC, glossary, etc.)

    • Provide training and feedback to curriculum developers.

    • Meet weekly with the curriculum developers to balance/prioritize workload and ensure pedagogical consistency/coherence. 

  • Meet weekly with the Curriculum Manager to help balance/prioritize workload among the team members they oversee, support pedagogical consistency/coherence, help remove blockers for the team, and ensure that deliverables are on time and content adheres to product requirements and product vision.

Minimum Requirements of the Associate Curriculum Manager

  • A bachelor’s degree in education, mathematics, mathematics education, or a related field.

  • 5+ years of experience working either (1) in educational settings, with evidence of excellence in instruction in math at relevant age levels or (2) at a PK-12 curriculum publishing company, with a focus on elementary mathematics.

  • Understanding of the progression of the Common Core State Standards for mathematics, CA CCSSM, Texas TEKS, and other state standards relative to grade level bands.

  • Demonstrated leadership and management skills

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Excellent organizational skills

  • Experience working effectively across teams with diverse priorities and focus

  • Commitment to Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion in mathematics and education

Preferred Requirements of the Associate Curriculum Manager

  • Graduate degree in early childhood education, elementary education, mathematics education, or similarly relevant subject area

  • Experience developing or implementing a problem-based curriculum

  • Experience supporting diverse learners and English Language Learners

The gross annualized salary range for this role is $88,000 - $95,000. This role is eligible to receive an annual discretionary bonus that rewards individual and company performance.
