Job Purpose

This role is a high-level leadership position responsible for the strategic oversight, optimization, and management of manufacturing operations across a designated geographic region. This role encompasses ensuring operational excellence, product quality, regulatory compliance, cost-effectiveness, and fostering innovation while leading a team of plant managers and staff across multiple facilities.

Roles & Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership:

  • Provide visionary and strategic leadership to multiple manufacturing facilities within the region.
  • Develop and execute long-term plans that align with corporate objectives and promote sustainable growth.

Quality Control and Assurance:

  • Establish and uphold rigorous quality control standards, processes, and best practices.
  • Drive innovation and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product quality and competitiveness.

Resource Allocation and Optimization:

  • Strategically allocate and manage resources, including labor, equipment, and materials, to maximize production output and minimize operational costs.
  • Champion automation, advanced technologies, and process improvements to enhance operational efficiency.

Safety, Environmental Compliance, and Regulatory Standards:

  • Ensure strict adherence to safety, environmental, and regulatory standards and best practices across all manufacturing facilities.
  • Foster a culture of safety, environmental responsibility, and sustainability within the region.

Talent Management and Leadership Development:

  • Recruit, develop, and lead a high-performing team of plant managers, supervisors, and manufacturing professionals.
  • Provide coaching, mentoring, and training to foster professional growth and skills development.

Budgeting, Financial Management, and Cost Control:

  • Develop and oversee budgets for manufacturing operations within the region.
  • Implement cost-saving strategies and financial management techniques to improve profitability and reduce waste.

Supply Chain Coordination and Optimization:

  • Collaborate closely with the supply chain and logistics teams to ensure seamless material procurement and distribution of finished products.
  • Implement advanced supply chain strategies to minimize lead times and inventory costs.

Performance Metrics and Data Analysis:

  • Define, track, and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess regional manufacturing performance.
  • Utilize data-driven insights for decision-making, process enhancements, and operational improvements.

Stakeholder Communication and Reporting:

  • Maintain transparent and effective communication with senior management, corporate headquarters, and relevant stakeholders.
  • Regularly provide comprehensive reports on regional performance, challenges, opportunities, and strategic recommendations.

Crisis Management and Contingency Planning:

  • Develop and execute robust contingency plans to address emergencies, disruptions in production, or other critical incidents

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, operations management, or a related field. An advanced degree, such as a master's or MBA, is highly desirable.
  • A minimum of 15 years of progressive experience in manufacturing and operations management, with at least 7 years in leadership roles.
  • Extensive expertise in manufacturing processes, quality control, lean manufacturing principles, and industry best practices.
  • Exceptional leadership and team management skills, with a proven ability to motivate and develop staff.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Financial acumen, including expertise in budgeting, financial analysis, and cost control.
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and senior management.
  • Thorough understanding of safety, environmental regulations, and industry compliance requirements.
  • Adaptability and a proactive approach to changing industry trends, technological advancements, and market conditions.
