Mission

You will be HP Central & Eastern Europe Market Sustainability Compliance & Global Supply Chain Responsibility Program Manager. 

A major focus of your role will be to support environmental compliance helping HP to track, influence and ensure compliance with legislative requirements in the Central & Eastern Europe Market on WEEE, batteries, packaging, eco design, waste shipment, supply chain responsibility, materials, climate, ESG and the circular economy. You will also drive advocacy and engagement with key stakeholders.

You will lead one of our major compliance and market access programs covering Human Rights and Supply Chain Responsibility.  As global lead you will work with our colleagues in other regions to provide a global overview of regulations that could impact HP, and co-ordinate the detection, monitoring and end to end compliance of regulations.

Key Responsibilities

As part of this role, you will:

  • Help ensure HP product and services are compliant with environmental regulations and legislation within our Central & Eastern Europe Market.

  • You will help track, influence and ensure compliance with legislative requirements on WEEE, batteries, packaging, eco design, waste shipment, supply chain responsibility, materials, climate, ESG and the circular economy.

  • You will maintain a roadmap and dashboard of compliance requirements in Central & Eastern Europe Market. 

  • Through thorough tracking and policy analysis you will keep internal teams aware of these changes by relaying the relevant requirements to our product development business units.

  • You will also co-ordinate advocacy and attend meetings with industry associations key stakeholders and policy makers. You will help ensure HP is a trusted advisor in the policy making process and use your understanding of environmental policy to help shape constructive policy proposals.

  • You will help ensure HP product and services are compliant with Human Rights and Supply Chain Responsibility regulations, through thorough monitoring and tracking of regulations, their analysis, then relaying the relevant requirements to our Human Rights and other implementation teams.

  • You will be global lead and work together with the global Human Rights team; and our colleagues in other regions to provide a global overview of Supply Chain Responsibility regulations that could impact HP; and co-ordinate the detection, monitoring and end to end compliance of regulations.

To succeed in your mission, you will work closely with the rest of the Sustainable Impact organization, other HP teams (legal, Government Affairs); and external partners including trade associations.

Requirements & essential skills

Required

  • Passion for sustainability and drive to make a positive difference.

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree with a significant sustainability or environmental policy focus (eg Geography, Environmental Policy, Environmental Management, Environmental and Business, Environmental Law or equivalent.)

  • Knowledge and experience of understanding sustainability/environmental policy requirements and/or managing sustainability compliance.

  • Expertise in Human Rights/ Supply Chain Responsibility regulations.

  • Minimum of 3 to 5 years work experience, preferably in sustainability, business or project management.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English including being comfortable with speaking to policy makers, presenting to customers, and with senior management.

  • Advocacy / influencing skills – rallying support from internal and external stakeholders to deliver on our objectives.

  • Enthusiasm, ability and willingness to learn and adapt to new challenges.

  • Ability to understand compliance requirements and develop solutions. Strong quality orientation. Rigor and attention to details.

  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to manage fluid situations, then prioritize and take action with calm and efficiency, working at a fast pace in a flexible manner.

  • Strong team-working skills.

  • Ability to work with minimal direct day-to-day supervision.

Desirable

  • Excellent German language skills

  • Expertise in more of the following areas: WEEE, batteries, packaging, eco design, waste shipment, supply chain responsibility, materials, climate, ESG and the circular economy.

  • Interest in or experience of the policy making process or working within a policy making environment.

  • Experience of delivering a compliance project and/or achieving policy change.

  • Project management skills.
