ROLE SUMMARY

The Analytics Engineering team in the Global Commercial Analytics & AI (CAAI) organization serves as the backbone of our data-driven commercial organization, delivering the foundation upon which transformative insights and innovation thrive. The team’s charter includes supporting Data Science and Insight & Strategy partner organizations across the entire data journey from Descriptive to Predictive with key responsibilities for data transformation, creation of consumption-ready data products and visualization tooling to enable the International Commercial business.

We are looking for a Director of Analytics Development, for our International Commercial Analytics Development team. Reporting to the Sr Director of Analytics Development, you will be a hands on Analytics leader who will lead a team of experienced analytics developers to play a crucial role in leveraging data to drive strategic decision making and optimize commercial business performance. You will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining robust analytics solutions that provide actionable insights to various stakeholders in the commercial organization, contributing directly to Pfizer’s global mission of improving Patient lives. Furthermore, the Analytics leader will drive best in class processes and deliverables supporting our Data Science, Insight & Strategy partner organization across the entire data journey from Descriptive to Predictive with key responsibilities for pipeline creation, reporting, and data visualization across the International commercial business. Your team will design and implement scalable data preparation pipelines on large volume data sets to curate datasets and build analytical products such as reporting that will enable actionable insights, strategy, and ML workloads across commercial. and patient experience. This includes leveraging large and complex data sources, helping derive actionable insights, delivering dynamic and intuitive decision tools, and bringing our data to life via amazing visualizations.

Responsibilities

  • Lead a top tier Analytics development team in a cluster of international markets assigned to you. You will drive the hiring, execution, and business support processes, and mentor/develop the analytics developers that work on your team.
  • As a hands on lead of the team, design and deliver strategic Analytics projects sourcing and curating data from the relevant data sources and using existing engineering best practices to meet the needs of a highly dynamic and data driven commercial business.
  • Design and implement end to end analytics solutions to support commercial business objectives, including data curation, data analysis and manipulation, database modeling, visualization and deployment.
  • Be a strategic partner to frame, investigate, and answer key business questions related to organization wide performance analytics and interactions with senior commercial leaders, ELT members, and international group presidents.
  • Deliver intuitive and insightful data visualization to communicate key brand performance to stakeholders and implement real-time decision support tools that provide field representatives with insights and recommendations during interactions with physicians.
  • Lead investigation and resolution of potential Data quality issues Recommend and implement permanent solutions to mitigate data quality issues.
  • Discover and understand complex data sets, identify, and formulate correlational rules between heterogenous data sources for effective analytics and reporting.
  • Partner with US Analytics platform team to ensure compliance with best practices to ensure quality, accuracy and efficiency of data curation pipelines and gain alignment on using the relevant foundational data assets to power operational analytics.
  • Collaborate with our Data science, performance insights and brand facing Insights & Strategy teams to build analytics solutions for specialized Global markets and commercial business units.
  • Partner with enterprise Digital Engineering team to identify and source data from centralized data warehouses.
  • Actively contribute to Analytics team and project documentation and playbooks. Serve as a SME in analytics development, providing guidance, training and mentorship to junior team members and fostering a culture of learning and innovation.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical area such as computer science, engineering, IT, or related Health Sciences field.
  • 10+ years of relevant experience in data analytics, data engineering, business intelligence and 4+ years of management experience.
  • Deep hands on expertise in Data Architecture, Data Modeling and Datawarehouse Fundamentals.
  • Extensive hands on experience in SQL, data manipulation and Business Intelligence tooling and ETL pipeline development.
  • Strong Domain knowledge in the Life Sciences and Healthcare industry with Commercial/marketing experience desired.
  • Experience working in the Healthcare Life Sciences (pharma preferred) and/or commercial/marketing experience industry experience desired.
  • Programming experience in Python, Java or other programming languages preferred.
  • Experience with data privacy standards, pharma industry practices/GDPR compliance.
  • Experience in building Analytics solutions that enable HCP engagement and Field force optimization preferred.
  • Strong knowledge and experience in driving Data quality and Governance best practices.
  • Solid knowledge in master data management, rules-based data engines, and tools for multi-stage data correlation across large data sets.
  • Experience in building data visualization tools and requirements.
  • Extensive experience working in agile setting or bringing agile best-practice mentorship to the team.
  • Demonstrated experience in hiring and developing high performing teams to meet the needs of a highly dynamic and complex business.
