Location: Cobb Vantress – Dry Creek Farm – Tennessee Pedigree Complex, Deer Lodge, TN

Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8 AM to 4 PM

This position is responsible for supporting all professional and hourly Team Members at the location(s) assigned, serving as primary point of contact for all Human Resource inquiries and processes such as Payroll, Leave of Absences, Disciplinary Actions, Investigations, Benefits, Recruiting, Onboarding, Learning, etc. as the only Human Resource role onsite.

This position will be responsible for all HR execution work at the assigned location and will serve as the primary point of contact for new hire onboarding and training needs, to include frontline leadership.  This position is also responsible for recruiting, pre-hire, and post-offer onboarding activities. This includes Management and ownership of the recruiting process from creating requisitions through new hire orientation. Utilizing applicant tracking and candidate sourcing tools. Maintaining current applicant tracking documentation through each phase of the recruitment process.  

This role requires creating, maintaining, verifying, and organizing employee files, I-9s, and other documentation to ensure compliance with all EEO regulations. Assisting with the completion of the onboarding checklist, managing and maintain annual compliance trainings, auditing requisitions to ensure AA and EEO protocols are followed, while strictly adhering to all employment authorization guidelines in accordance with company and government regulations. Will oversee, coordinate, and execute learning and development, and be solely responsible for annual Compliance training, H&D retraining, annual Bio Security and Animal Welfare Training.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Collect, review, upload policies, procedures, standards, templates and related KPIs.

  • Recruits, interviews, and facilitates the hiring of qualified job applicants for open positions; collaborates with departmental managers to understand skills and competencies required for openings.

  • Conducts or acquires background checks and employee eligibility verifications.

  • Assist and support with I-9 initiation, involuntary servitude interview, document verification, policy review & acceptance, and schedule orientation date.

  • Respond to human resources-related inquiries. Perform routine tasks required to administer and execute human resource programs including but not limited to compensation, disciplinary matters, disputes and investigations, productivity, recognition, morale, and training and development.

  • Payroll processing; TM time and Attendance.

  • Create and distribute internal communications regarding status changes, Open Enrollment/benefits, or company policies.

  • Administer new employee on-boarding and orientation.

  • Attends and participates in employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations.

  • Monitor employee morale and company culture.

  • Identify future staffing needs.

  • Process complaints regarding sexual harassment, discrimination, or other instances of workplace harassment and assist in any necessary investigations and disciplinary actions.

  • Conduct exit interviews.

  • Annual Required Training for Employees and Managers – Biosecurity, Animal Welfare, Annual Compliance.

  • HR Advisor duties such as unemployment claims, Okta password resets, walk up HR related inquiries, and assisting Team Members with Workday tasks.

  • Work and Resolve Service Now Tickets.

  • Maintaining Employee recognition program – Cobb Rewards and Referral Bonuses.

  • Participate in community events/job fairs on occasion.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements:  Education: Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related field preferred.  Equivalent work experience to be considered in lieu of higher education.  Experience: 2+ years relevant work experience in HR preferred. Computer Skills: Standard computer skills – Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.  Workday experience is a plus. Communication Skills: Excellent verbal written communication interpersonal skills. Must be able to interact and communicate with individuals at all levels of the organization. Bi-lingual is a plus. Special Skills: Work requires continual attention to detail in composing typing proofing and analyzing materials. Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment with demonstrated ability to juggle multiple competing tasks and demands. Must maintain confidentiality. Supervisory: None Travel: 1-5 trips per year
