What is the compensation?
Pay Rate: $12 per hour. (Payment will be made by direct deposit.)

What will I do?
Maintain security in the library and on the grounds.
Monitor security cameras.
Observe and/or patrol designated areas or routes.
Write daily shift reports of activities.
Watch for and report theft, vandalism, or general impropriety.
Assist other staff members as needed and perform other related work as required.
What do I need to apply?
Ability to read and follow directions.
Interact with the public at a level sufficient to demonstrate an ability to perform the duties of the position.
Previous security experience is desirable.
Skills test may be given.
Selected candidate(s) will be provided basic security training before beginning duties.
What are the hours?
Approximately 15 to 20 hours per week, between the hours of 4:00 p.m. and 11:00 p.m., Monday, Wednesday, and Friday.
What are the physical and environmental factors?
This work requires physical strength and agility to perform the work; and exposure to adverse weather conditions, hazardous materials, and potentially stressful circumstances.
What is the selection process?
This position is open until filled and will be closed when sufficient, qualified applications to proceed with a competitive selection process have been received (at least seven days). Applications will be reviewed in the order they are submitted. Applicants must meet the minimum qualifications listed above to be eligible for consideration.
If selected for hire, candidate will be required to successfully pass a drug screen and criminal background check. Non-disclosure may result in dismissal. Applicants with unsatisfactory drug screen results will be ineligible for appointment or application to any Provo City position for a minimum period of six (6) months.
