The Talent Discovery team is a newly established strategic function within the Talent Acquisition organization, supporting our most critical hiring needs, including both technical and non-technical roles. As the Recruiting Lead for this team, you will have the exciting opportunity to manage a dynamic group of Associate Recruiters, focused on both passive talent sourcing and full-lifecycle recruiting. You will guide your directs through ambiguity and change as they pivot to support critical roles across the company, ensuring your team has the necessary skills and resources to meet hiring goals while enhancing representation in the candidate pipeline. You will maintain your own sourcing and recruiting goals, remaining hands-on while helping your team achieve their collective targets. 

As the Recruiting Lead for the Talent Discovery team, you will also serve as an internal expert in the talent market. You will play a key role in talent mapping projects, market insight initiatives, long-term candidate engagement strategies, and diversity-focused sourcing efforts. 

Reporting into the Senior Manager of Diversity Recruiting, this is a “hybrid” role open to our Austin, Texas offices. This leader will be expected to be in-office 1-2 days a week, with the opportunity to work-from-home the remaining days. 

In this role you will

  • Lead a team of Associate Recruiters, providing training, mentorship, and strategy support; create an inclusive, collaborative and high-performance team culture focused on achieving hiring goals while delivering a diverse candidate pipeline
  • Set clear performance expectations and goals for the team, monitoring individual metrics and team outcomes
  • Navigate ambiguity and change effectively, guiding the team through evolving business demands; Support your team to staff for new role profiles and implement sourcing strategies to meet ever-changing hiring needs
  • Drive diversity-focused sourcing initiatives and ensure that diversity is a key consideration in all recruitment efforts across the team
  • Ensure the team is equipped with the necessary skills and resources to succeed; facilitate training and upskilling opportunities for Associate Recruiters to enhance their capabilities in new hiring domains
  • Liaise with the Recruiting Leadership Team and other business stakeholders to understand critical hiring needs. Deploy your team to address these hiring gaps,  reviewing metrics to assess team effectiveness
  • Lead talent mapping projects to identify critical talent pools, conduct market-insight initiatives to stay informed about industry trends and talent availability, and oversee strategic sourcing efforts supporting business objectives
  • Help build and evolve our long-term candidate engagement strategies at MongoDB, establishing best practices and processes for the broader Talent Acquisition organization
  • Maintain a personal sourcing and recruiting goal, working closely with hiring managers and business leaders to understand their hiring needs and deliver exceptional talent for their openings

Our ideal candidate will have

  • 5+ years of recruiting experience within a corporate and/or agency environment
  • Demonstrated leadership capabilities; experience mentoring, coaching, and training peers will be considered in lieu of direct people-management experience
  • Experience recruiting for technical positions or sales roles is required. Previous experience recruiting in a technology-focused organization is a plus
  • A strong knowledge of diversity-focused sourcing tactics and best practices, as well as a dedication to creating an inclusive team-culture and workforce
  • Expertise in creative and out-of-the-box sourcing techniques to tap into new pools of talent, with a proven ability to uncover new sourcing tactics through research and knowledge-sharing with peers
  • An analytical mindset, with the ability to conduct autonomous research and utilize data to inform strategy and influence stakeholders
  • The proven ability to autonomously manage projects from start to finish, liaising across multiple stakeholders to drive hiring innovation
  • A proven ability to juggle multiple competing priorities simultaneously and the flexibility to wear many hats; contribute to hiring-needs in various locations, time-zones, and business units
  • A bias for action and ability to navigate ambiguity and set data-driven strategies with limited leadership oversight
  • Exceptional organizational and time-management skills, with previous experience in high-volume business environments
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication, with business-level fluency in English
  • Proficiency working in Greenhouse and Gem (preferred, but not required)

MongoDB’s base salary range for this role is posted below. Compensation at the time of offer is unique to each candidate and based on a variety of factors such as skill set, experience, qualifications, and work location. Salary is one part of MongoDB’s total compensation and benefits package. Other benefits for eligible employees may include: equity, participation in the employee stock purchase program, flexible paid time off, 20 weeks fully-paid gender-neutral parental leave, fertility and adoption assistance, 401(k) plan, mental health counseling, access to transgender-inclusive health insurance coverage, and health benefits offerings. Please note, the base salary range listed below and the benefits in this paragraph are only applicable to U.S.-based candidates.

MongoDB’s base salary range for this role in the U.S. is:
$84,000$165,000 USD
