About the team

We are passionate about using data to make eBay an extraordinary place to work. We believe that behind every number is a person and a story, and that our job is to use data, reporting, analytics, and data science to tell that story.

This role sits in the Australia Analytics and Insights Team within the global eBay analytics organization. This team plays a meaningful role in providing thought leadership to all areas and all levels to inform our strategy and execution throughout the business.

What we are looking for

We are looking for a Data Analyst to join our team. With access to one of Australia’s largest and most diverse datasets, you will deliver reporting and insights to teams right across the organisation to help them measure, understand and optimise performance.

Your responsibilities

• Assist in the design and delivery of business analysis and reporting that delivers effective insight using MS Excel, SQL or Tableau
• Carry out other ad-hoc reporting requests as requested
• Apply attention to detail to ensure the highest level of quality in report & analyses

Your experience

• 1 to 3 years’ experience in a similar or relevant role – this could be in insights/analytics, or in management consulting, engineering or product management
• Academic background in a quantitative field (e.g., mathematics, engineering, statistics, economics, business)
• Ability to work with people at all levels and across functions
• Strong analytical aptitude with the ability to collect, organize, understand, and disseminate information with attention to detail and accuracy
• Outstanding Excel skills.
• Strong SQL and relational database knowledge preferred but not essential
