Role Definition
As the Senior Manager of Human Resources for SPM Western Hemisphere – A Caterpillar Company – you will be responsible for a team of 6-8 members (4 direct reports) across the USA, Canada, and Mexico. You will direct the development and implementation of HR strategies aligned with business objectives, provides guidance on HR policies and practices, and fosters a culture of employee engagement and development. 

Responsibilities

  • Collaborating with our senior most leader as a strategic advisor helping identify and prioritize HR initiatives that align with the organization's goals and objectives.
  • Aligning HR policies and programs for their division which promote employee engagement, retention, and performance.
  • Acting as a trusted coach providing guidance to leaders and managers on HR-related matters, including performance management, compensation, and benefits, etc.
  • Analyzing HR metrics and data to identify trends and opportunities and develop a story to provide data-driven recommendations to senior management.
  • Developing and implementing change management methods and materials to facilitate deployment of HR programs and processes within a specific organization.

Level Extensive Experience:
• Educates recruiters and HR staff on desirable qualities in prospective employees.
• Designs individual development plans for specific high-potential employees.
• Evaluates all talent initiatives and ensures smooth processes for talent management programs.
• Develops profiles of internal and external candidates who have management or leadership potential.
• Directs multiple talent management programs in diverse organizations.
• Coaches others on how to find opportunities for job rotation to expose talented individuals to new experiences.
