This Summer 2024 internship opportunity is a 12-week commitment requiring onsite support in Grand Rapids, Michigan.

Job Summary

The intern will work alongside the Corewell Health Strategy and Business Development team addressing real-time business issues to develop skills and experiences. Corewell Health’s Strategy & Business development team. The Strategy & Business Development team’s objective is to serve as a proactive and growth driving team. Our team is a broad functional team inclusive of business development, strategic planning, market development and insights & analytics. We are a team of professionals committed to growth for the organization through strategy development, advising and internally consulting across the organization to bring clarity amongst the many possibilities before us, aligning our choices to our vision.

Essential Functions

  • Completes projects on behalf of the team, presenting findings to leadership
  • Sits in on department or project meetings
  • Assist strategy directors and/or advisors in developing strategic business plans, business cases, qualitative research proposals
  • Produce key deliverables related to strategy and/or business development as determined by preceptor or key lead
  • Gain industry knowledge through shadowing, attending departmental and external departmental meetings, and project involvement
  • Participate in team training and development opportunities
  • Develop leadership and presentation skills through exercising relevant educational knowledge and internship experience
  • Perform qualitative and/or quantitative analysis
  • Contribute creative and unique perspectives and lead an area of focus over the course of the internship
  • Exercise organizational core values, while driving work that aligns with the system strategic plan and vision

Qualifications

Required

  • High School Diploma or equivalent Currently enrolled in a university pursuing an Associate's or Bachelor's degree in area of accountability. May also be a recent graduate from an Associate's or Bachelor's degree program.

Preferred

  • Preferred Currently enrolled in an accredited Master’s program in health administration, business administration, or similar.
  • 1 year of professional working or internship experience
  • Strong business acumen, with some financial or statistical experience
  • Understanding of healthcare systems, system function
