The Opportunity
This position works out of our Bogotá
What You’ll Do
.Provides legal services and resolves legal matters for assigned responsibilities and on a cross divisional basis for Colombia, Ecuador and Venezuela. Supports the business in the achievement of business objectives by rendering sound legal advice and managing legal risks to the corporation.
The Sr. Counsel:
• Identifies moderately complex legal issues related to assigned matter; proposes alternative solutions, highly self - motivated, results driven and high ethical standards
• Resolves routine and moderately complex to complex legal matters in practice area with minimal supervision
•Focused in adding value to the business and generating simplification processes through the business empowerment and training (self-service).
• Assigned matters may have a significant to critical impact on business activities and operations
• Assists more experienced attorneys in resolving complex legal issues on cross-functional projects
• Possesses solid knowledge of Abbott’s businesses supported and knowledge of the broader business impact
• Areas of expertise needed are mainly focused on commercial law, general commercial agreements, distribution/agency agreements, consumer law & advertising, data privacy, customs, social media and competition/antitrust law
• Represents Abbott externally to customers, suppliers, competitors or government agencies; resolves legal issues using negotiation skills and legal expertise
• Helps select and/or directs the work of outside counsel, defines project objectives and manages project in a timely manner
• Independently develops budgets for assigned legal matters
• With leaderships skills to potentially manage direct or indirect teams/reports
Required Qualifications
Law Degree
Fluent in English (writing and speaking)
Preferred Qualifications
minimum 6+ years of relevant experience, preferably in Pharma / FMCG companies and/or law firms
