Hong Kong, China Hong Kong, Hong Kong (On-Site)The Role
We are currently seeking a Project Cost Control Officer with experience in Project Management advantageous, but not required. The purpose of the role is to carry out controlling activities in cost monitoring, budgeting and forecasting, revenue and cash projection and work closely with project team to maintain and improve project financial health.
Responsibilities
Key financial indicators management: Have at all times full knowledge of project financial movements with regards to revenue, margin and cash. Be able to provide clear financial highlights to management during project review meeting
Revenue and cash management: Understand the revenue recognition plan with PoC% cost method and billing plan( invoices and milestone payments) at project start, and perform regular review with project manager
Overdue follow up: Manage and forecast cash movements monthly. Track cash –in overdue status, give alert to PMs and Finance head
Cost Control: Track, monitor and report planned budgets/forecast vs. actual spend using project controlling tools (SAP, Excel). Provide variance explanations and possible recovery plan actions
Project cost set-up in ERP: in conjunction with Project Team, develop the Work Breakdown Structure and Budgets for the project and ensure correct and approved cost recorded in SAP
Invoicing reconciliation: Track both customer invoicing and suppliers invoicing, ensure consistent cash in/out
Manage contract price changes: assist project team on variant order or additional work claim pricing, ensure project value and margin have been correctly updated with these changes
Perform financial tasks with ERP: review and approve sales order, invoice request, purchase request, timesheet etc. in SAP
Intra-company coordination: Work with global controllers or controller in other group entity on multi-entity project reporting
Assist company budget/ forecast: provide project inputs and key assumptions to assist company quarterly forecasts and annual budget preparation
Assist internal & external audit: reply project related audit queries and attend project review meeting required by auditor
Requirements
Bachelor Degree with major in Accounting/ Finance/Business
Project management experience or financial qualification preferred
Strong financial planning and analysis skills
Knowledge of IFRS and project accounting is a plus
Commercial and business acumen
Proactive, Self- motivated, independent with good interpersonal skills
Team player, curious, open minded and flexible
Advanced MS Excel skills, SAP is a plus
Fluent in English - Cantonese / Mandarin is a plus
