1. Provide leadership and set vision and strategy for the privacy framework elements
2. Drive strategic privacy compliance programs, from concept/definition through planning, execution, delivery, and adoption
3. Work cross-functionally with internal business stakeholders and international counterparts, ensuring both existing and new services, products or processes comply with current and emerging privacy obligations
4. Drive initiatives to enhance public understanding of Walmart’s commitment to putting social good and customers first
5. Oversee Walmart’s internal vendor risk management program and champion privacy and AI impact assessments, working with business stakeholders where necessary, for new products, tools, and processes; drive data inventory and mapping for existing and new products and functions
6. Manage security incident protocols and data breach plans as a key leader
7. Proactively resolve complex issues by regularly making recommendations for new approaches to information lifecycle management, privacy breaches and development of contingency plans to address anticipated issues and risks and track risks through the remediation
8. Maintain and foster the risk management skills for privacy, data ethics, and data use; assess organizational and legislative requirements, and develop policies, standards, systems and procedures to meet current and emerging business needs, while ensuring regulatory compliance
Qualifications:
Undergraduate degree in Law, Ethics or related disciplines
5+ years of proven hands-on experience in project management and developing and/or leading privacy program activities and privacy impact assessments in a management or lead role
Expertise in interpreting and applying global data protection laws and regulations, including an in-depth understanding of PIPEDA, CCPA, GDPR, Law 25 and other emerging Canadian privacy laws
Understanding and application of the following principles, frameworks and methodologies within the context of privacy and information management would be an asset:
Generally Accepted Privacy Principles (GAPP)
ARMA Principles
CSA Model Code, Fair Information Principles
Industry standards such as: ISO 27001-27002 and NIST
National and international standards and regulatory guidance on ethical AI, machine learning and other emerging technologies
Leading information management, compliance and governance frameworks
Familiarity with OneTrust products and services
Ability to work creatively and analytically in a problem-solving environment
Collaborative, positive attitude, able to deal with diverse challenges in a calm, courteous, and effective manner
