Job Summary:

The Justice and Emerging Marketgs Portfolio is seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented M&A analyst with a strong business development focus to join our team. This role combines analytical expertise in mergers and acquisitions with a proactive approach to identifying and cultivating business opportunities. The ideal candidate will be responsible for supporting deal execution, conducting in-depth financial analysis, and driving the growth of our deal pipeline through strategic relationship-building and market research.

Job Description:

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

M&A Analysis

  • Conduct in-depth financial modeling and valuation of potential transactions  
  • Perform due diligence, analyzing financial, operational, and strategic aspects of target companies. 
  • Assist in the preparation of pitch decks, investment memos, and board presentations to support strategic decision-making. 
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including legal, accounting, and tax advisors, to ensure smooth execution of transactions. 

Business Development

  • Identify and research potential acquisition targets, strategic partnerships, and other business opportunities aligned with the company’s objectives. 
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with industry stakeholder and target companies
  • Develop and maintain a strong pipeline of opportunities by actively networking, attending industry events, and leveraging market intelligence. 
  • Prepare and deliver presentations and pitches to potential partners and stakeholders, showcasing the value of proposed opportunities. 

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field; MBA, CPA or CFA designation is a plus. 
  • 3+ years of experience in M&A, investment banking, private equity, corporate development, or a related field. 
  • Strong financial modeling, valuation, and analytical skills with a deep understanding of M&A processes. 
  • Proven experience in business development, including identifying opportunities and building relationships. 
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with internal and external stakeholders. 
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and data visualization tools. 
  • Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects under tight deadlines. 
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with a proactive approach to identifying and pursuing opportunities.
  • Able to travel up to 25% of your time.
