Job Description

As Director, Digital Marketing you will report to the CMO and manage a small team leading the department’s website strategy, marketing automation, SEO/SEM, department operations and reporting. As the head of website strategy, you will be responsible for developing and executing a comprehensive web marketing strategy to create, engage and convert traffic to smartrent.com, including a replatform of the website in 2025. As the head of marketing operations, you will ensure the smooth functioning and consistent optimization of the marketing function, following the user journey from lead acquisition to maturity. You will collaborate with stakeholders throughout the organization to determine how marketing’s technology platforms can add value, create efficiencies and drive revenue. This position requires a combination of leadership, strategic thinking, and technical expertise to drive marketing excellence within the organization.

Responsibilities

Website Strategy

  • Oversee the website and ensure it is a compelling sales and marketing tool for the organization. 
  • Optimize website content for SEO best practices and keyword optimization to improve website visibility and performance.
  • Redesign and replatform the website in 2025.

Marketing Automation

  • Manage marketing automation, develop KPIs, conduct A/B testing, report on results and make recommendations to optimize email marketing performance.
  • Collaborate with growth marketing to develop, implement, and manage campaigns that promote the SmartRent brand, drive website traffic and acquire new leads.

Marketing Operations

  • Evaluate and ensure digital marketing tech stack is effective and efficient. Evaluate emerging technologies and provide perspective for adoption when appropriate.
  • Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to measure marketing performance. Analyze campaign performance metrics and make recommendations.
  • Develop and maintain dashboards for real-time monitoring, and generate insights to inform data-driven decision-making. Provide regular reporting to CMO and executive leadership.
  • Streamline marketing workflows and processes to increase efficiency, reduce waste, and improve productivity. Implement best practices, and continuously evaluate and refine marketing operations to ensure optimal performance.
  • Manage third-party contracts, vendors and the digital marketing budget.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Journalism, Advertising, Communications, or related field
  • 10+ years of digital marketing and website strategy including 5+ years in marketing operations
  • Advanced knowledge of marketing platforms including website CMS and social media channels
  • Extensive experience managing website replatform and redesign projects
  • Proficient user of Salesforce, ZoomInfo and GA4
  • Experienced in marketing automation, HubSpot is a plus
  • Strong skills in analyzing data, reporting metrics and communicating key results
  • Experience managing project management software 
  • Team player, willing to work collaboratively and cross functionally 
  • Record of building and managing a small team

  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with BI tools (Tableau, Power BI) and data visualization a plus.
