As a Senior Engineering Project Team Lead/Engineering Project Team lead, you will lead global, cross-functional teams to develop, deliver, and maintain technology products for surface mining applications.  You will be accountable for planning and coordinating the execution of the technical workstream supporting the NPI process, supplying technical support for the sales and delivery of products.  You will be responsible for planning and leading product maintenance activities, defining and communicating product requirements, defining and communicating product strategies, learning and staying abreast of innovative technologies, while mentoring and coaching Enterprise team members.

This role will require regular interactions and communications with external customers and suppliers.  You will serve as a technical interface between multi-disciplinary teams. 

Job Duties/Responsibilities may include, but not limited to: 

  • Oversee and facilitate the technical delivery of the product and solutions across cross-functional teams.

  • Collaborating with business partners and customers to define products requirements. 

  • Lead the construction of backlogs and roadmaps aligned to the strategic goals of the organization.

  • Participate in priority management, product planning and release management processes.

  • Participate in the performance and usage monitoring of delivered products and solutions.

  • Assist in management of product integration and coordination of multiple systems. 

  • Facilitate creation of the vision and innovation through coordination of discovery processes. 

A strong team leader will rely on a wide network to obtain the resources and cooperation needed to remove roadblocks and ensure the success of their team.   The team leader will interact with people from diverse technical and cultural backgrounds.  The incumbent will take responsibility for their development, continuously learning through experience, professional engagements, and career opportunities.   The incumbent will gain an understanding of the customers’ needs and application of the product or process, as well as keeping up with technology.

Required qualifications: 

  • Requires an accredited, engineering degree or equivalent

  • Prior related years working experience in similar / related field

  • Experience with mining and/or technology products.

Desired qualifications:   

  • Experience with Systems Reliability Engineering.

  • Experience with large enterprise solutions applications. 

  • Experience with DevSecOps principles

  • Experience with Cloud computing solutions including AWS and Azure. 

  • Previous team leadership experience.  

  • Strong communication and organizational skills.  

  • Experience with requirements management in systems design.

  • Experience in Caterpillar’s NPI process
