Sales and Business Development: This position will assist in leading the ALAM sales and marketing strategy in Asia Pacific Region with special focus on China, Taiwan, Korea, and Japan. Above all else, this manager will be responsible for upholding the highest possible integrity and business ethics while implementing top notch business practices that lead to long-term profitable growth. In this position you will be responsible for embracing ALAM’s goals including Safety, Quality, Customer Satisfaction, Growth, Profit, and WorkPlace of Choice for Employees. This manager will help drive ALAM’s sales for near and long term profitability. In this role, you will work with Ops control to determine unit and gross-profit plans by analyzing trends, setting vision, and relentlessly driving ALAM to this vision. You will leverage old relationships and develop new ones to discern competitive pricing, competitive landscape, value pricing, and ensure “level playing field” to improve customer trust/fairness. You will collaborate with the SAMs and affiliates to achieve sales price alignment with customers. You will seek to understand technology trends as a means to anticipating customer needs. Customer and global intelligence gathering will be employed to intercept customer and technology inflections. You will work intimately with customers to understand their strategic supply chain concerns. You will work directly with Product Management, Sr Director - Sales & Marketing, Global Planning, Finite Planning, Director of Global Site Strategy, Supply Chain Management, and all Air Liquide Affiliates.
As a key member of our Sales & Products Team, you will be responsible for identifying new business opportunities, building strategic partnerships, and driving revenue growth. Your primary focus will be working with the SAMs and affiliates to help expand our market share with key customers and increase sales through effective networking, market research, and relationship building.
Responsibilities:
Complete competitive intelligence gathering via the use of SWOT analysis and Red Team/Blue Team analysis.
Employ Voice of Customer as the guiding principle to devise commercial strategies
Work daily with the Sr. Director, Sales & Marketing to ensure clarity of commercial and sales strategies.
Maintain sales volume by tracking changing trends, economic indicators, and competitors’ supply and demand.
Participate in cross-site and cross-functional teams to manage issues with Asia localization and nationalization.
Provide value added and product differentiation proposals to AL SAMs and affiliate commercial teams. Upon request, participate in end customer meetings to help communicate the proposals.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to tailor solutions that meet customer needs and align with organizational goals.
Work with Product Management to offer competitive solutions to offset below market pricing by fast followers for HVM products.
Work with Emerging Product Managers to prepare and deliver persuasive sales presentations to customers interested in emerging products.
Stay updated on industry trends and market conditions to provide insights for business development strategies.
Bachelor’s degree in engineering or chemistry
5- 10+ years of experience in the semiconductor materials industry
Demonstrated cross-functional leadership skills
Outstanding oral and written communication skills
Solid understanding of industry issues and trends in combination with strong understanding of product development and manufacturing.
Ability to quickly and effectively assess, evaluate, and communicate market opportunities, competitive issues, and business performance.
Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively communicate across organizational and cultural boundaries.
Experience in multicultural settings (China, Japan, Taiwan, Korea, US, EU).
Ability to effectively motivate, facilitate and direct the activities of individuals and project teams.
Accountable behavior: follows-up his/her commitments, communicates delays effectively and proactively.
Excellent organizational and resource management skills.
Ability to travel on a frequent and extended basis, domestically and internationally, sometimes with little advance notice.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with or understanding of thin film processes (semiconductor, fpd, solar), ALD/CVD/PVD systems is strongly desired.
Familiarity with the usual synthesis and purification processes, as well as the typical metrologies (IPCMS, GC, NMR, FTIR, LC…) used for UHP semiconductor materials (pure products)
Experience working with manufacturing sites and suppliers outside of the US
Experience with stage/gate processes
