As a Strategic Surgical Account Manager supporting the Surgical Sales team, you will be responsible for driving Alcon business strategies for
sales growth by establishing, maintaining and expanding value partnerships with strategic private sector customers and thereby driving sales performance in designated strategic private accounts.
In this role, a typical day will include:
- Achieve sales of Alcon surgical product and service portfolio in key corporate accounts in line with agreed sales targets in order to optimise Alcon revenue and profit
- Analyse data, market and environmental trends – be the local ‘expert’ regarding the private corporate account environment in your country
- Develop bespoke strategic and tactical plans for target accounts in order to achieve business targets and then deploy own (SAM) tactics in proactive, timely fashion in order to achieve account objectives
- Pre-align the above strategies with local Alcon leadership before subsequently rolling them out to field sales teams (AMs, CPMs, VMs, ATMs, MDMs, RBMs, RSMs, CSMs, CAS, TS etc). Aim is to align field matrix colleagues to implement the agreed tactics according to the defined strategies
- Drive collaboration with wider internal matrix organisation in order to achieve necessary tactics in target accounts (e.g. BUH, Marketing, Medical, Market Access, Pricing, Legal, GM, EMEA CAD, Commercial Solutions Managers etc).
- Develop relationships with centralized senior stakeholders within target corporate accounts in order to foster strategic relationships with Alcon and achieve commercial objectives. To primarily target (but not limited to) the following key customer groups. (Senior managers such as ‘C-Suite’ (CEO, CFO, COO, CMO, MD, GM etc), Senior Procurement officials, Heads of Group Purchasing Organisations (GPOs), (Where necessary) medical decision makers such as KOLs)
- Work collaboratively with EMEA colleagues and EMEA Director of Corporate Accounts. Additional collaborative emphasis is required for key strategies relating to ‘cross-country’ corporate accounts
WHAT YOU’LL BRING TO ALCON:
- Degree level in a Science or Business/commercial subject
- Languages: Fluency in Dutch and English (verbal and written)
- Minimum 5 years in a commercial/customer facing/sales role
- Consultative selling experience in B2B industries (ideally, high-end MedDev)
- Negotiation experience with senior level customers
- Cross-functional and matrix working
- Direct or indirect leadership/management experience
- Strategic mindset and strong relationship management skills.
- Superior communication, sales & negotiation skills
