Head of Delegate Sales - Reuters Events

This full-time, hybrid role is based in London.

Reuters Events (part of Thomson Reuters) runs 60 events annually across the globe, serving a diverse range of key, content-hungry industries such as Pharma and Insurance, to Energy and Automotive (and many in-between). We’re looking for a leader to set the strategy and oversee the day to day running of our multi-million dollar revenue team, ensuring that our events are attracting and resonating with a range of key industry figures that sit across our varied portfolio.

 

As Head of Delegate Sales, you’ll be responsible for driving delegate revenue across all events. You’ll coach and manage the delegate sales team, developing telesales sales strategies, and will work closely with your direct reports to ensure our revenue targets are met. You’ll also collaborate with the content, sponsorships and marketing teams and will use your data analysis skills to help forecast future revenue, where to deploy resource and will work closely with the senior leadership team to contribute to the team’s strategy.

 

About the Role

As Head of Delegate Sales at Reuters Events, you will:

  • Use your sales and management experience to develop and implement effective sales strategies that will maximize delegate revenue streams at our conferences and events.

  • Coach, motivate, and manage the delegate sales team to achieve individual and team targets and ensure the development and progression of our delegate sales team.

  • Collaborate with marketing and event management teams to optimize event offerings and promotional activities. You’ll also take an active role in generating revenue by selling booth space at our conferences and exhibitions.

  • Prepare and present sales reports, forecasts, and performance analysis to senior management.

  • Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction and retention and feed your findings into future strategies.

  • Work closely with the conference production and wider revenue-generating teams to allocate resources efficiently.

  • Continuously improve sales processes and tools.

 

About You

 

You’re a fit for the role of Head of Delegate Sales at Reuters Events if you have:

  • Demonstrable experience in a senior sales role within a related industry (Events, Publishing or or Media).

  • A keen interest in developing staff and the ability to use your managerial acumen to motivate and maintain our delegate sales team. Strong leadership and team management skills.

  • Excellent communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work to tight deadlines.

  • An understanding of using CRM software and sales analytics tools, with the ability to make and present data-led decisions.

  • A collaborative mindset with a results-driven approach to both sales and management.
