SUMMARY OF JOB PURPOSE:
Responsible for working with One Sysco Data, Sysco’s Master Data Management initiative, domain leads and relevant business stakeholders to define and document business requirements, processes, and data needs. This role will support the One Sysco Data teams with analytical, process design and improvement, and reporting needs including but not limited to ad-hoc data analysis, process and workflow development and design, reporting. Finally, this role will work cross functionally with the technical teams to address systems, data and process related issues.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Senior Analyst, Business and Data ’s duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
- Conducts data/process analysis, requirements gathering, design, implementation and monitoring reporting to support Item, Supplier and Customer Product teams and Product Center of Expertise team needs. Performs problem solving activities to identify opportunity areas and then implements solutions.
- Leads business requirements discovery and documentation to determine stakeholder needs. Conducts process and workflow design to clearly illustrate business needs.
- Manages collaboration and communication between the business and technical teams to ensure requirements are clearly understood and actionable
- Works cross functionally with business and business technology stakeholders including Product, Platform and Advanced Data Management team members to solve system and process related issues
- Travel when required to fulfill assigned tasks
EDUCATION:
- Minimum Required: Bachelor’s Degree or higher from an accredited and recognized four-year college or university.
- Preferred: Master’s Degree in data science or information technology or business administration field focused on data analysis and information management.
REQUIRED MINIMUM EXPERIENCE:
- Three to Eight (3-8) years’ experience as a business process analyst/engineer, data analysis or management consultant with relevant process, data and technology experience.
- Prior SQL development experience is preferred both building and troubleshooting SQL.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:
- Experience establishing data quality control and implementing data standards, data stewardship, metadata management, data lifecycle management, or data architecture management
- Minimum 3 years foodservice or related industry experience preferred
- Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification
- Project management experience in both large and small-scale projects is an advantage
- Experience working in and knowledge of, wholesale distribution
ABILITIES AND SKILLS:
Required:
- Experience with business process analysis, design, engineering/re-engineering and improvement in an external or internal consulting role with heavy end-user customer interaction
- Analyze, synthesize and interpret large complex data sets from business functions to deliver analytical insights
- Expert knowledge of databases as well as strong hands-on SQL query writing experience
- Experience analyzing large and complex data sets
- Ability to plan and manage large-scale initiatives involving multiple business and technology areas using a business improvement methodology
- Ability to lead project deliverables through to completion
- Ability to extract insights from data to help drive business decisions
- Experience in data profiling and cleansing
- Strong problem solving abilities
- Ability to work independently, under general guidance
- History of meeting deadlines and delivering high quality results
- Flexible; readily accepts new changes and is viewed as a change champion; open to new ideas
- Experience in gathering and synthesizing requirements and conducting requirements analysis
- Experience with Software Development Life Cycle, Agile and, DevOps methodologies and Continuous Improvement and Integration projects
- Experience documenting technical requirements based on client interviews
- Ability to conduct requirements gathering, writing and analysis
- Experience working in a collaborative environment
- Maintains positive attitude and helps to promote in others
- High-level proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook, Visio, Access)
- Advanced Excel and PowerPoint abilities to effectively analyze and illustrate key insights from data
Preferred:
- Experience with multi-domain Master Data Management and platforms (Customer Information Management, Digital Asset Management, Product Information Management, Data Governance tools, etc.)
- Deep understanding of information flows between Master Data Management, Digital Asset Management, e-Commerce, and back-end Enterprise Resource Planning systems
- Experience with coding to design/build new capabilities in order to improve the functionality of a product or service
- 3 or more years of consulting and/or broad industry experience
- Hands on experience in sample-based research methods and sample weighting data practices
- Experience using Business Intelligence visualization tools and designing Tableau dashboards
- Knowledge of key finance and accounting principles
