An intern at Greif will enable you to:

You will have the opportunity to:

  • Assist in engineering assignments and ongoing projects
  • Familiarize yourself with departmental functions
  • Attend events and functions including social networking events and roundtables
  • Contribute meaningfully to performance goals and assigned projects
  • Packaging Design – Develop and design packaging solutions that protect products during transportation, storage, and distribution.
  • Data Collection/Entry – Collect data on different processes and enter data into Excel. Must be able to format data in Excel for analysis.
  • Continuous Improvement – Identify opportunities for improvement in packaging designs and manufacturing processes through research, analysis, and collaboration with colleagues.
  • Project Management – Must be able to organize/manage projects from implementation to completion.
  • Collaboration – Coordinate with cross-functional teams such as manufacturing, sales, and quality to implement projects.
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications:

  • Currently pursuing an undergraduate degree in Packaging Science Engineering, Industrial, or Mechanical
  • Minimum completion of two years or more of college preferred prior to the start of your internship
  • Good academic standing with your Engineering major and school
  • Legally authorized to work in the U.S.
  • Able to work 40 hours for the duration for the internship, May 19, 2025 to August 15, 2025

What sets you apart:

  • Strong academic background, with a preferred GPA of 3.5 or above  
  • Understanding of basic Engineering principles and relevant functions
  • Relevant work experience or involvement with professional clubs/organizations
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and on a team
  • Curiosity and problem-solving skills
  • Proficiency in understanding materials properties, packaging machinery, and design software (SolidWorks, AutoCAD)
  • Analytical Skills – Ability to analyze data, identify trends, and make data-driven decisions to improve processes
  • Excellent written and oral communication, organizational, time management, analytical, and adaptability skills
