The Intel Federal Engineering organization develops and productizes enhanced and custom products for Intel Federal's product segment. The organization has a growing set of capabilities across silicon design, packaging, systems, software, and security. Team members can expect to contribute to a wide range of products including: highly specialized compute accelerators, ASICs, silicon/package/module level integration of Intel and external components, enhancement of Intel commercial products, and systems. The Engineering organization closely collaborates with Intel Federal's Research and Development activities.
The Systems and Solutions Engineer role is expected to take a leadership role driving overall design and development of systems and solutions that integrate software, firmware, board, and silicon/SoC components for federal segments with specific focus on customer requirements and implementation limitations throughout the systems lifecycle. This role will have a focus on resilient systems and assurance.
In this role your responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
Systems architecture and definition, including translating the business opportunity into use cases and developing the product specifications for required hardware and software needed to deliver system requirements.
Leads design, analysis, and implementation of component-level choices across the integrated systems on performance, features, and cost including technical risk assessment and emphasis on ease of use, reliability, security, availability, maintainability, sustainability, and quality based on system or platform architecture specifications.
Defines systems implementation and integration solutions and plans to ensure optimum performance and reliability across hardware and software that comprise the system.
Delivers end-to-end technical solutions to solve customer problems, deploying solutions, executing benchmark tests, and preparing documentation.
Collaborates with other teams to analyze next generation requirements and opportunities and may influence and guide research and academic collaboration on systems and solutions, including proof-of-concept and solutions beyond current industry approaches.
Influences and drives technical direction across Intel and industry.
Aligns organizational goals with technical vision, formulates technical strategy to deliver leadership solutions, and demonstrates a track record of relentless execution in bringing products and technologies to market.
Meets directly with current and prospective customers to understand their mission goals and contribute to high level solutions using new and existing capabilities.
Demonstrates excellent written and verbal communications skills both internally across Intel and with external customers.
Candidates must possess the minimum education requirements noted below and minimum required qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates.
Minimum Qualifications:
US Citizenship required.
Active US Government Top Secret (TS) Security Clearance with the ability to obtain and maintain SCI access.
PhD in Physics, Material Science, or related Scientific/Engineering field with 10+ years of relevant experience.
Experience working with US government customers on programs with federal information handling and security requirements.
Experience researching and developing systems and technologies for reliable and resilient systems.
Experience with digital assurance techniques.
Preferred Qualifications:
Active US Government TS/SCI Security Clearance.
Knowledge of semiconductor product development including advanced process nodes, silicon development, packaging, and photonics.

Annual Salary Range for jobs which could be performed in the US:
$186,760.00-$299,166.00Salary range dependent on a number of factors including location and experience.
