Duties and Responsibilities:

Zoom IT team is seeking candidates with strong engineering lab support and

management expertise to assist us in managing our growing fleet of hardware, software,

and lab space. You will be responsible for all aspects of the lab operations from ensuring

various lab systems remain online; setting up hardware; provisioning servers, OS

installations and configurations; keeping track of consumables, and organizing spaces to

increase efficiency.

The nature of the work requires spending time in Datacenter facilities in addition to office

time - 2 to 5 days a week on an as-needed basis. This work may involve heavy lifting (up

to 30/50 lbs).

Maintain lab systems and deploy test hardware and software. Keep the actual state of

inventory systems and processes to account for team assets. Plan power and networking

requirements for equipment expansion.

Will be performing the initial installation of Linux OS on lab servers as well as additional

packages and drivers. Will be participating in installation of network switches and various

types of fiber and copper connections.

Will be participating in troubleshooting sessions with internal and external teams

regarding supported environments.

An excellent organizer. Some project management experience would be needed to

deliver the complete lab solutions. Will be communicating with hardware, datacenter and

telecommunication vendors. The role requires managing priorities across multiple parallel

efforts and deliveries.

Excellent communication and collaboration skills with the ability to work independently.

Will be cooperating with other team members across our global organization to achieve

the goals of the projects. The result-driven attitude will be crucial for the success of the

role.

The progress updates to various management is a critical part of the responsibilities. So

the ability to quickly produce the reports and frequent communication will create a huge

positive impact to the role and our organization.

Requirements:

• 5+ years of experience managing labs and/or production environments or similar

technology field

Extensive experience managing lab projects

Junior to Middle Linux skills

Junior to Middle Network skills

Experience with medium and large scale environments in companies with more than

5,000 users

Experience in modern data center design concepts

Ability to participate in multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize effectively.

Ability to handle escalations and projects with minimal supervision

Team player, resourceful, able to work under pressure and on call after hours.

Bachelor degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or MIS or equivalent work experience

Salary Range or On Target Earnings:

Minimum:

$83,700.00

Maximum:

$178,000.00

In addition to the base salary and/or OTE listed Zoom has a Total Direct Compensation philosophy that takes into consideration; base salary, bonus and equity value.

Note: Starting pay will be based on a number of factors and commensurate with qualifications & experience.

We also have a location based compensation structure;  there may be a different range for candidates in this and other locations
