The opportunity:

As an inspiring and forward-thinking leader, you’ll help us achieve success with our Digital vision. As a key member of the Technology Leadership Team (LT) you will contribute to the successful enablement of our IT strategy, vision, and roadmap.

As a technology leader, you’ll build trusting and inclusive relationships and be a strategic partner to the AIA Customer business unit. Your customer centricity, expertise and thought leadership in technology will support current and future needs.

In this role you will:

  • Provide an influential reference point for the use of Digital Technology to achieve business outcomes and you demonstrate clear thought leadership in guiding the Technology Digital team forwards.

  • Be the primary IT point of contact for assigned BU’s and be accountable for e2e delivery all IT services to those BU’s, working closely and collaboratively with other IT functions.

  • Create a strategic plan that defines how technology will work alongside equivalent technology teams in Australia and Group to contribute to business units’ strategic objectives and related costs and risks.

  • Continuously explore ways to innovate and apply new technologies/ business models to grow business results and the customer experience.

  • Assess the performance of existing digital and information systems in terms of contribution to business objectives, functionality, stability, and value.

  • Ensure the correct structure is in place for program / project / delivery teams to ensure success, incorporating required skills from the business and actively sourcing resources from delivery partner organisations if and as required.

  • Act as a role model by consistently displaying leadership behaviour that encourages productive working relationships and a strong performance culture.

Ideally, you’ll bring:

  • A collaborative and engaging leadership style, valuing being in a business that is committed to diversity and inclusion and will relish being able to foster this culture.

  • Subject Matter Expertise / Domain knowledge, with an emphasis in the Digital domain.

  • Deep team leadership and strategic business partnership experience with proven outcomes in the Digital domain.

  • Sound analytical skills, including an understanding of business economics and financial resources.

  • Strong project management skills, with a proven track record of delivery.

  • Effective stakeholder management & engagement skills.

  • Solid experience of working in the Digital Technology space, ideally across industries with acknowledged digital leadership.

  • An academic backing with appropriate qualifications is preferred i.e. Bachelor, Technical Degree or Tertiary qualifications in Technology or similar.

  • Experience in Financial Services / Banking / Insurance would be valued.
