The Manager Group Cyber and Technology Risk & Assurance Automation will be responsible for managing and delivering automation solutions to enhance our strategic risk management and cyber governance activities, across the Qantas Group. This includes working closely with our IT and Cyber Security team to identify inefficiencies and opportunities for automation, streamlining security control continuous monitoring process, integrating automated solutions and ensuring that mitigation actions are addressed according to priority, and any escalations are promptly identified and reported to senior management automatically. The Manager will also support the process optimization of risk frameworks and the improving and automating cybersecurity processes to enhance an organization’s defence mechanisms.

This position is part of a high performing team and will work closely with a variety of key senior stakeholders to develop, enhance and manage governance and risk processes in a automated fashion across the Qantas Group. The position will play a key role in ensuring Qantas Group achieves its business goals through thought leadership; and technical and business acumen.

This position requires knowledge of Cyber/Technology Risk & Compliance; Cloud Security automation (AWS, Azure, GCP); Security Strategy; Understand relevant regulatory requirements; machine learning or AI in Cyber & Technology Governance.

The Manager, Cyber & Technology Risk & Assurance Automation role will support the development and sustainable delivery of Cyber & Technology Risk Management and control assurance strategy across the Group (Qantas, Qantas Loyalty and Jetstar).

You’ll have:

  • 5+ years or more of experience in the following:
  • Experience in delivering IT & Cyber risk assessments
  • Proven experience in cybersecurity and automation. Experience with security automation tools (e.g., SOAR, PAM, SIEM, endpoint protection) is preferred
  • Experience with security automation tools and scripting languages (e.g., Python, PowerShell) desirable
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the analytical skills to analyze complex security issues and develop effective automated solutions
  • Degree desirable (e.g., Information Security, Information Protection, Computer Information Systems, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems Management)
  • Industry certification desirable (e.g., CISA, CISSP, etc.)
  • Strong understanding of cybersecurity principles, threat landscape, and security best practices
  • The ability to lead large groups and be a primary facilitator
  • Strong verbal and written communication and presentation skills, with the ability to clearly explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
  • Comfortable working in complex, agile environment and matching outcomes to expectations
  • Ability to work easily with diverse and dynamic teams
  • Strong influence and negotiation skills needed to obtain commitments to remediate risks and vulnerabilities from leadership of other teams and business units
  • Good level of understanding of and experience in external and internal audits
