Support student retention and student success in the School of Health Sciences while also assisting to ensure the clinical needs of each program are met. These services include student advising, academic schedule building, assisting students with the application process for limited enrollment programs, student success activities, and compliance with campus and school policies and accreditation standards.

Serve as primary contact for the School of Health Sciences programs and the affiliated clinical sites related to any clinical issues. Make recommendations to faculty committees and/or the Dean for policy changes and implementation regarding clinical affiliations, clinical site coordination, and general clinical issues or concerns.

This is a grant funded position. The Perkins Grant Activity for this position is approved through 6/30/26, subject to annual review and approval of the grant budget. The current budget is approved through 6/30/25. There is no guarantee of employment beyond this date; however, the grant is renewable based on the position’s success.

Major Responsibilities:

Support retention, and student success in the School of Health Sciences. These services include student advising, building/modifying academic plans, student recruitment, student success activities, and compliance with campus and school policies and standards.  Some specific examples include:

  • Develop and maintain current knowledge of limited enrollment program admission criteria and application processes.

  • Work directly with students who were not accepted into a limited enrollment program.

  • Attend, develop, and facilitate professional development events related to student success and advising.

  • Maintain student records in compliance with campus and school policies and accreditation standards.

  • Serve as a liaison for both clinical sites and program chairs related to establishing new clinical affiliation agreements, renewing existing agreements, scheduling of students, and reviewing issues that may arise during a clinical rotation.

  • Abide by all FERPA guidelines to maintain required student privacy.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Possesses an earned Associate’s degree from a regionally accredited institution with at least four (4) years of related work experience or possesses a Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited institution with one (1) year of clerical experience and/or two (2) years of experience in applicable student support roles.
  • Good keyboarding and computer skills; knowledge of various software packages required (such as Microsoft Word, Access, Excel, PowerPoint, GoogleDocs)
  • Excellent organizational, communication, human relations, and self-directed work skills within a team environment and the ability to keep information confidential.
  • Dependable, responsible, willingness to work and learn, and excellent human relations skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Possesses an earned Master’s degree or higher from a regionally accredited institution.
  • Certification or licensure in a healthcare discipline providing care or service directly to patients.

Other Requirements: The selected candidate will be subject to Pre-employment background checks, including a criminal history check.  Any offer of employment will be contingent upon that outcome.  Official transcripts/certification required upon hiring.

Working Hours: Primarily 8 am to 5 pm with the ability to work some evenings or weekends, as needed.
