The Cloud Platform Engineering (CPE) team is responsible for the stability, reliability, release and deployment of TCGplayer.com technology. The team’s primary function is to increase the efficiency of the organization through well-designed automation and infrastructure.

As a mid-level Software Engineer focused on Developer Experience (DevEx), Platform engineering, or Developer Productivity you will be at the forefront of creating an efficient and enjoyable development workflow. Your role will involve improving the overall development lifecycle, from code writing and review to deployment and monitoring. You will work closely with other engineers to understand their needs, alleviate their pain points, and implement solutions that enable them to work more effectively and independently.

What you will accomplish: 

  • Build and maintain tools and automation to elevate engineering team productivity.

  • Work with developers to pinpoint and remedy bottlenecks in the development workflow.

  • Own and deliver project-based work as assigned, and support the Production Engineering teams as a point of escalation.

  • Work to improve automation and tooling for robust continuous integration and deployment pipelines.

  • Contribute to the internal documentation and how-tos for our systems.

  • Champion code health, rigorous testing, and maintainability standards.

  • Develop self-service options for developers to foster independence from other teams.

  • Maintain a stable, scalable, and secure development environment while keeping abreast of the latest DevOps innovations.

What you will bring:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.

  • 3 or more years of proven experience as a software engineer with a focus on developer tools, DevOps, or site reliability engineering.

  • Strong coding skills in one or more programming languages (e.g., Python, Go, C#, JavaScript).

  • Experience with CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI, CircleCI, GitHub Actions) and version control systems (e.g., Git).

  • Familiarity with containerization and orchestration technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).

  • Knowledge of cloud services (e.g., AWS, GCP, Azure) and infrastructure as code (e.g., Terraform, CloudFormation).

  • Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams.

  • A passion for improving the developer experience and empowering engineers.
