What you'll do...
We are looking for a talented engineer to join our Marketing Technology -
Search Engine Optimization (SEO) team at Walmart. In this role, you will
collaborate with a dedicated group of engineers to build high-volume, high-
throughput, customer-facing real-time data processing pipelines and
services. Your work will focus on leveraging large volumes of data in the
cloud to provide actionable insights that help optimize and increase organic
search traffic, ensuring our customers are connected to Walmart’s extensive
range of products and services.
About the Team:
We are part of the Marketing Technology - Search Engine Optimization
(SEO) team at Walmart. Our mission is to build high-volume, high-
throughput, customer-facing real-time data processing pipelines, services,
and analytics. As a member of our team, you will work alongside a dedicated
group of engineers to develop innovative solutions that provide actionable
insights to our business and site merchandising associates. These insights
are crucial for optimizing and increasing organic search traffic, ensuring
that we can connect our customers with Walmart’s extensive range of
products and service offerings. Our work directly impacts the customer
experience, making it easier for millions of people to discover and access
everything Walmart has to offer.
What You'll Do:
- Architect and Propose New Solutions: Work with relevant stakeholders
across the product, engineering, and business spectrum to architect and
propose new solutions. Create cloud-hosted solutions for large-scale data
processing and real-time applications.
- Lead a Pillar of Development Work: Lead a pillar of development work with
other associates, collaborating closely with product stakeholders on a
frequent basis to facilitate seamless execution of priorities.
- Collaborate and Document: Participate in technical discussions and
documentation with internal and external partners. Translate product
requirements into engineering deliverables.
- Support and Maintain: Support the team on implementation, testing, and
deployment of solutions. Assist in resolving production incidents and
conducting RCAs.
- Contribute to Reliability: Contribute to the reliability of solutions by setting
up automated processes to reduce future incidents.
What You'll Bring:
- Coding Experience: Proficiency in Java, Scala, or Python.
- Data Processing: Experience with data processing pipelines, data
management, and analysis.
- Technical Skills: Strong expertise in JavaScript, TypeScript, and web
fundamentals.
- Node.js or Linux: Experience with Node.js or strong Linux fundamentals.
- Documentation and Collaboration: Ability to document and contribute to
highly technical projects.
- Troubleshooting Skills: Skills in troubleshooting production incidents and
improving overall reliability.
Additional Skills We Consider a Plus:
- Understanding or hands-on experience with Marketing Platforms and
Search Engine Optimization.
- Experience working with commercial and open-source marketing tools and
products.
- Knowledge of and experience with Search Generative Experience is a huge
bonus.
- Working experience with customer-facing, high-transaction, e-commerce
applications is a plus.
- Hands-on experience building AI Agents, working with LLM Models, and
knowledge of related tools and capabilities.

Live Better U is a Walmart-paid education benefit program for full-time and part-time associates in Walmart and Sam's Club facilities. The annual salary range for this position is $143,000.00-$286,000.00
Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses.
