Bankwest is a subsidiary of The Commonwealth Bank, and the Bankwest Technology division (BWT) is accountable for maintaining system resilience and supporting the delivery of our bold technology strategy at pace and scale. Bankwest Technology consists of Platforms and Chapters underpinned by areas of expertise that manage Bankwest technology, applications and systems to support the Bankwest business. Bankwest Technology is located primarily in Bankwest Place in Perth, WA and has a total approx. 650 employees. Bankwest Technology is made up of the following areas of expertise

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Works with the scrum team to define, prioritise and manage the product backlog to deliver on the product vision, goals and roadmap.
  • Consults with business customers, stakeholders and cross-functional teams to build a shared understanding of the problem and solution and ensure there is support for scope and delivery decisions.
  • Publishes and communicates the product strategy and roadmap to stakeholder and teams.
  • Assesses and prioritises work based on outcomes to deliver maximum value.
  • Continuously orders and refines product backlog to deliver maximum value in line with a clear product strategy and roadmap.
  • Takes accountability for the prioritisation of the backlog.
  • Manage conflicts, issues and risks to optimise solution and ensure alignment to scope.
  • Promotes continuous improvement of the Product Owner practice within the organisation.
  • Manages the plan or product roadmap including any risk, security or financial assets within accountabilities.

Essential Skills:

  • 10-15 years of experience with good knowledge, working with the following traits:
  • Understanding the Home Loan process. Understanding the process in Australian market is an added advantage
  • Clearly articulating the requirements with stakeholders
  • Clearly expressing Product Backlog items.
  • Ordering the items in the Product Backlog to best
  • Achieve goals and missions.
  • Optimizing the value of the work the development Team performs.
  • Ensuring that the Product Backlog is visible,
  • Transparent, and clear to all, and shows what the Scrum Team will work on next; and,
  • Ensuring the Development Team understands items in the Product Backlog to the level needed.
  • The Product Owner may do the above work or have the Development Team do it.
  • However, the Product Owner remains accountable.
  • Experience working with the following Tools: Confluence and JiraAgile methodology of working

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in engineering in Computer Science/ Information Technology.
