About the Team 

The Latin America Office at the College Board is dedicated to expanding educational opportunities and improving student outcomes across the region. Our market development team is a tight nit group of highly dedicated professionalsWe also have established partnerships with local educational institutions, consultants, and independent contractors that help us drive our mission forward. Our market development team collaborates with institutions, ministries of education, and other stakeholders to promote the use of College Board programs and servicesWe work closely with organizations in Puerto Rico, Dominican Republic, Mexico, Panama, Guatemala, Honduras, and elsewhere in Latin America. 

 

About the Opportunity  

As the Executive Director of Market Development for College Board LATAM, you will play a pivotal role in growing our impact and testing volumesYou will build and maintain strategic relationships with decision-makers at secondary and higher education institutions, especially within ministries of education. You will work closely with the Vice President of LATAM to build a robust network of market development and account management support throughout the region. Your work will ensure alignment between institutional needs and our products and services, driving the mission of the College Board to enhance student opportunities everywhereYou will lead strategic initiatives to expand the organization's influence and operations across the Latin American region, developing robust partnerships, driving growth strategies, and leveraging market insights to enhance educational programs and services tailored to the needs of students, educators, and institutions in LATAM.  

 

In this role, you will: 

Strategic Planning and Execution (30%) 

  • Work closely with the Vice President to align market development strategies with the overall LATAM goals. 
  • Develop, execute and track strategies to increase testing volumes and program adoption in the specified regions. 
  • Identify and assess market opportunities, trends, and challenges specific to the Latin American education sector. 
  • Identify and leverage cross-selling opportunities to maximize market penetration. 
  • Build plans and track progress against metrics to ensure market development goals are met. 

 

Relationship Building and Sales (30%) 

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key decision-makers at secondary and higher education institutions, including ministries of education, while identifying and pursuing new business opportunities. 
  • Develop and execute account plans, including setting objectives, creating action items and assigning responsibilities, identifying cross-selling opportunities that contribute to growth goals, for each key customer, reviewed and updated quarterly. 
  • Gather and analyze feedback from educational institutions to inform product development and improvements. 
  • Be an effective presenter and networker, representing the College Board at industry events and conferences. 

 

Team Building and Management (20%) 

  • Build and lead a high-performing sales team, including full-time employees, independent contractors, and consultants. 
  • Establish and manage partnerships with local educational institutions and other stakeholders to drive business growth. 
  • Provide leadership and mentorship to the market development team, including account managers, to ensure effective execution of market development strategies. 

 

Market Analysis & Reporting (20%) 

  • Conduct thorough market research to understand the educational landscape, customer needs, and competitive dynamics in LATAM. 
  • Monitor market trends and competitive landscape to identify opportunities for growth.  
  • Monitor the effectiveness of market development initiatives, using data and feedback to make informed decisions and adjustments. 
  • Prepare and present reports on market performance, stakeholder engagement, and strategic initiatives. Report on progress to senior leadership, highlighting achievements, challenges, and opportunities. 
  • Maintain up-to-date records in Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software.  

 

About you, you have: 

  • A passion for education and the mission of the College Board.  
  • At least 10 years of experience in market development, sales, marketing, strategic partnerships or a related field, with deep understanding of the education sector in Latin America. 
  • Effective networker, capable of representing College Board at industry events and conferences. 
  • Proven ability to build and maintain relationships with high-level stakeholders, particularly at education related organizations within Latin America. 
  • Significant experience developing strategic proposals for services, supporting market development teams effectively, and managing teams to deliver on expectations. 
  • Excellent negotiation skills and strong leadership in procuring and managing external vendors and service providers. 
  • Strong communication and presentation skills in both Spanish and English. 
  • Demonstrable experience in building and managing high performance teams. 
  • Excellent organizational and project management skills with the ability to build plans and track progress against metrics. 
  • Proficiency with CRM software and Microsoft Office applications. 
  • Willing and able to travel up to 50% of the time. 
  • You are authorized to work in the United States.

The salary range for a new employee based in Puerto Rico for this position is $113,000 to $139,000.

The salary range for a new employee based in the United States for this position is $136,000 to $210,000.
