What You Will Do:

Guidehouse is seeking a Database Administrator Senior Consultant to join the Defense and Security Segment (D&S) Defense & Intelligence (D&I) Practice Area. The candidate will support a D&I team dedicated to advancing the mission of a Defense program & policy office.  

The Database Administrator Senior Consultant will lead the management of one of the Manpower and Reserve Affairs server databases to ensure that it’s properly maintained and updated. The individual will also oversee the development of deliverables and interact with the client daily to ensure engagement success. This includes supporting day-to-day operational meetings with client sponsors and consulting leaders. The Senior Consultant is expected to have experience managing workstreams, advising clients, and creating effective reports and presentations for the client and internal executives.

What You Will Need:

  • Ability to OBTAIN and MAINTAIN a SECRET Federal or DoD security clearance 

  • Bachelor's degree; FOUR (4) years of professional experience may be used in lieu of a degree

  • FIVE (5) or more years of experience in a professional environment including THREE (3) years of experience managing server databases (e.g., SQL) through multiple product lifecycle environments

  • Ability to work onsite up to 5 days per week at client location(s) in the DMV

What Would Be Nice To Have:

  • An ACTIVE and MAINTAINED SECRET Federal or DoD security clearance

    Experience focused on strategic communications

  • Experience consulting for government clients, particularly for Department of Defense (DoD) clients

  • Experience in the Manpower and Reserve Affairs domain

  • Ability to adapt quickly and develop successful professional relationships.

  • Ability to assume ownership of significant portions of tasks while collaborating with a close-knit team.

  • Ability to use flexible approaches for the identification of client challenges and solutions.

  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively communicate with stakeholders at all levels. 

  • Ability to work independently in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. 

  • Ability to manage several tasks simultaneously, prioritize and plan work activities while meeting respective deadlines.

  • Ability to communicate applicable technical subject matter expertise to management and others

  • Ability to work independently

  • Strong time-management and prioritization skills

  • Excellent communication skills across all levels of business, both written and verbal.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.

  • Experience monitoring system health and performance, to ensure performance, stability, and availability
