Scope of Role:
The Manager, People will report to the VP, People and play a pivotal role in shaping, delivering, and continuously improving our People operations, programs and processes across the employee lifecycle. As an integral part of enhancing Fairmarkit's culture and employee experience in a remote-first, global work environment, you will have the opportunity to make a significant impact.  This role requires strong analytical and communication skills, initiative, and attention to detail. Frequent visits to our vibrant Boston office, located at the WeWork on Beacon Street, will be required to ensure a welcoming environment for employees and guests.

Responsibilities:

  • Leadership and Program Management:
    Lead the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of core People Operations programs, including employee onboarding/offboarding, recognition and rewards initiatives, benefits and open enrollment, LOA program administration, immigration/global mobility, and engagement/culture initiatives, with a focus on enhancing employee experience and delivering a positive ROI.
  • People Analytics and Insights:
    Provide actionable people analytics and insights by creating and presenting dashboards and reports for quarterly internal and external reporting purposes. Analyze data to identify patterns and trends, offering recommendations to the leadership team to drive informed decision-making.
  • HR Systems Management:
    Oversee and ensure the integrity of HR systems, including onboarding/offboarding employees, integration with other systems, automation, implementation, and compliance with IT and industry standards. Develop and enforce best practices for data accuracy, security, and efficiency.
  • Documentation and Communication:
    Document, maintain, and communicate core HR processes to stakeholders, managers, and employees. Ensure all HR documentation is meticulously maintained and updated in line with the latest legal and regulatory standards.
  • Employee Support and Policy Enforcement:
    Support and coach employees on company policies and procedures, resolve challenges, and provide a first-class employee experience while safeguarding the company from liability. Ensure all employee interactions are handled with a high level of attention to detail and confidentiality.
  • Compliance and Risk Management:
    Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal employment laws and regulations, including those related to EEO, ADA, FMLA, ERISA, DOL, Worker's Compensation, and workplace health and safety. Conduct regular audits, identify gaps and inefficiencies, recommend improvements, and implement changes.
  • Collaboration and Event Coordination:
    Collaborate with the Marketing department for company communication, event coordination, and swag needs. Drive the ideation and execution of culture events/activities, including annual companywide and team offsites.
  • Office Management:
    Perform required office management duties, such as managing the WeWork account, organizing swag, preparing for events, ordering gifts/supplies, organizing mail, shipping packages, and coordinating with IT for office technology and company/teams and board meetings. Identify and implement automation opportunities to streamline these processes.
  • Special Projects:
    Lead and contribute to other special projects, demonstrating initiative and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.  

Professional Experience and Knowledge:

  • 5-7 years of progressive experience in People/HR functions in global, high-growth companies scaling from approximately 50 to 500 people.
  • Demonstrated ability to apply strong analytical skills to identify opportunities for process improvements, solve complex problems, and drive data-driven decision-making.
  • Proven track record of taking initiative, leading projects with minimal supervision, and delivering results in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Strong knowledge of employment, wage, and salary laws, practices, and regulations across multiple states and at the US and federal level.
  • Willingness to learn and understand global regulations.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, with a passion for precision and delivering high-quality work. Ability to maintain accuracy in high-volume and fast-paced environments.
  • Experience in leading cross-functional projects and process improvements, utilizing a data-driven approach.
  • Expertise in HR systems and tools, including implementations, with a focus on continuously improving and streamlining for scalability.
  • Proactively establishes and tracks personal OKRs and KPIs, ensuring alignment with company objectives. Exhibits strong motivation to define success metrics and take ownership of achieving results.

  • Outstanding organizational skills and ability to handle high-volume daily operational and strategic needs, effectively prioritizing tasks.
  • Always exploring new solutions in pursuit of increased automation, efficiency, and effectiveness. Ability to identify areas for process improvement and implement scalable solutions.

Tools and Certifications:

  • Mastery of Excel, including complex formulas, data analysis, pivot tables, and data visualization, to support reporting and analytics needs.
  • Expertise in systems and tools, including implementations, with a focus on continuously improving and streamlining for scalability (we use Rippling, Lattice, Greenhouse, Pave, Looker, Confluence, Google Suite, Slack).
  • SHRM-CP, PHR, or SPHR certification a plus.

Location:
For this role, we are looking for a candidate based in the Boston, MA area. Hybrid work opportunities may be limited to designated states. The annual compensation range for this position is between $120-130K. Fairmarkit uses E-Verify to confirm employment authorization in the USA #LI-Remote #LI-YM1
