Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Global Category Manager to oversee and optimize spend related to Resins, Molding & Extrusion across our global organization. As a Senior Global Category Manager, you will be responsible for developing and implementing category strategies to mitigate risk and drive cost savings, as well as managing supplier relationships, and ensuring the overall efficiency of our procurement processes. Your expertise and leadership will play a critical role in shaping our global sourcing and supply chain strategies, driving innovation, and delivering measurable value to our company. This role will be reporting to the Senior Director, Global Strategic Sourcing and is preferably based out of our Center of Excellence site in Pittsburgh, PA, but may be considered a remote role for the right candidate.

Key Responsibilities:

(1) Category Strategy Development: Develop and execute comprehensive category strategies for the assigned area of spend that align with the organization's overall objectives, incorporating global market trends, industry best practices, and supplier capabilities.

(2) Supplier Relationship Management: Identify, evaluate, and select strategic suppliers, establishing and maintaining strong relationships to ensure high-quality service, cost competitiveness, and continuous improvement.

(3) Cost Optimization: Analyze spend patterns, identify cost-saving opportunities, and implement appropriate initiatives to optimize expenses while maintaining quality and service levels. Drive negotiations to secure favorable pricing and contractual terms.

(4) Contract Negotiations: Negotiate contracts on behalf of the company with Year-Over-Year productivity expectations.

(5) Procurement Process Efficiency: Implement streamlined procurement processes and systems for the assigned categories to enhance efficiency, standardize practices, and ensure compliance with applicable regulations and policies.

(6) Market Intelligence: Monitor global market trends, industry developments, and emerging technologies. Leverage market intelligence to proactively identify innovative solutions, mitigate risks, and drive continuous improvement.

(7) Cross-functional Collaboration: Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders, including Operations, Supply Chain, R&D, Quality Assurance, Regulatory and Finance, to align category strategies with business needs and requirements, foster effective communication, and ensure successful execution of procurement initiatives. Act as a subject matter expert resource to the internal site purchasing teams and external contract manufacturing teams for commodity direction and strategy implementation.

(8) Risk Management: Identify and assess potential risks within the assigned categories, develop and implement mitigation strategies, and maintain contingency plans to minimize any potential disruptions to the supply chain.

(9) Performance Tracking: Define and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the effectiveness of category management initiatives. Regularly report on performance metrics, savings achieved, supplier performance, and other relevant insights to stakeholders and senior management.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Plastics Engineering, Chemistry, Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
  • Proven experience (5+ years) in global category management, strategic sourcing, or procurement.
  • Resin procurement expertise (5+ years) - demonstrated knowledge of resin materials, including their applications, supplier landscape, and market trends.
  • Experience with Molding and Extrusion processes is preferred.
  • Prior experience in the medical device industry is preferred.
  • Strong contract negotiations background.
  • Demonstrated experience in developing and implementing category strategies, driving cost savings, and managing supplier relationships.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build effective relationships with stakeholders and influence global cross-functional teams.
  • Analytical mindset with proficiency in data analysis, market research, and financial modeling.
  • Experience in using procurement software and tools is desirable.
  • Proactive, results-oriented, and able to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple initiatives simultaneously.
  • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally as required; travel expectation: 10-20%.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and remotely, if necessary.

Pay Transparency:

The base pay actually offered to the successful candidate will take into account, without limitation, the candidate’s location, education, job-knowledge, skills, and experience in prior relevant roles. Incentives may also be provided as part of Haemonetics’ employee compensation. For sales roles, employees will be eligible for sales incentive (i.e., commission) under the applicable plan terms. For non-sales roles, employees will be eligible for a discretionary annual bonus, the target amount of which varies based on the applicable role, to be governed by the applicable plan terms. Employees may also be eligible to participate in the Company’s long-term incentive plan, with eligibility and target amount dependent on the role.

The base salary range for this role is:

$118,444.00-$160,066.00/Annual
