Job Description:

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide Level 1 and Level 2 support to application owners by addressing questions about cloud security and application alerts and advising on remediation strategies.
  • Analyze and compare cloud alerting data from various sources to identify gaps, discrepancies, and root causes.
  • Assist in creating and maintaining documentation related to cloud scanning and vulnerability management processes, including configuration guides and standard operating procedures.
  • Collaborate with application development teams to address security issues early in the development process as part of our Shift Left initiative.
  • Promote cloud security awareness and best practices among application teams.
  • Stay current with the latest cloud security features, vulnerabilities, and best practices, and provide recommendations for improvement.
  • Update existing documentation to reflect lessons learned and feedback obtained from stakeholders.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  • Master’s degree in computer science, or
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Security, Information Technology, or a related field with minimum of 2 years of experience in IT, preferably focused on cybersecurity and/or cloud computing.

KNOWLEDGE / SKILL REQUIREMENTS:

The ideal candidate will demonstrate:

  • Basic understanding of cloud services, focusing on major cloud platforms such as AWS, Google Cloud Platform (GCP), or Azure.
  • Knowledge cloud scanning tools for vulnerability, compliance, and posture management (e.g., Prisma Cloud, Tanium, Tenable Nessus).
  • Familiarity with coding/scripting for data analysis (e.g., Python) or use of Excel for reporting.
  • Hands-on experience/Knowledge in cloud security, vulnerability management, compliance management, or network security is a plus.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  • Proactive and problem-solving mindset with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks.
  • Familiarity with web application vulnerabilities (e.g., OWASP Top Ten) and secure coding practices.
  • Technical skills include analyzing data from different sources and understanding various data formats.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

This role will not have supervisory responsibilities.
