Operating across GEV, support the BD team throughout the entire deal process to help meet deal objectives and overall Business Development strategy

Job Description

Essential Responsibilities

  • Support BD transactions from initial market research through to close. 
  • Execute assigned components of the deal process – valuation, due diligence, etc. 
  • Collaborate cross functionally to influence and ensure senior leadership buy in on deal opportunities.
  • Travel extensively and assimilate quickly into project teams
  • Co-ordinate external suppliers to ensure smooth and effective delivery of critical deal support services

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree, or equivalent knowledge or experience.
  • Significant experience in M&A/Transactional or relevant finance experience, ideally within GEV.
  • Deal modelling experience.
  • Proven critical thinking and problem solving skills.
  • Strong project management skills.
  • Leadership experience with senior management interaction.
  • Collaboration skills: Works effectively in cross functional and matrixed team environment.
  • Communication skills: Clearly articulates view point verbally and in writing, fostering confidence when sharing/ presenting information.
  • Prioritization skills: Balances workload and prioritizes effectively. Able to manage self and time to meet commitments.
  • Proficient use of Microsoft Office (e.g.. Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • This is an on-site role and we need the person to be able to commute to the office 5 days a week, unless travelling for business purposes.
  • The selected candidate is expected to travel extensively worldwide. On some M&A projects this travelling could require the person to travel up to 50% of the time.

Desired Characteristics

  • Prior GEV experience helpful
  • Financial Management Program (FMP) grad or Corporate Audit Staff (CAS) grad
  • Demonstrated strong attention to detail and analytical skills
  • Strong financial background
  • European language skills a plus
