Position Overview

As a Robotics and Perception Applications Intern at the Autodesk Robotics Lab, you'll build cutting-edge applications integrating deep learning-based perception and manipulation techniques. We are a team of researchers, engineers, and industry domain experts working on projects that range from reinforcement learning, deep learning, computer vision, motion planning, simulation, human-robot cooperation and more for robotic applications in manufacturing and construction.

This internship will be on-site in our San Francisco Pier 9 office where we have state-of-the-art robots, computing and sensing capabilities in-house for conducting advanced research and building full system demonstrations, with a beautiful view of the San Francisco Bay.

Autodesk's Robotics Lab is active in the wider research community, targeting publications at ICRA, CoRL and other top-tier conferences. We collaborate with top academic labs, combining the best of an academic environment with product-driven research.

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement new capabilities related to robotic assembly and other applications

  • Evaluate and integrate deep learning-based perception, grasping, planning and other techniques to create an end-to-end system for robotic assembly and other applications

  • Collaborate with other team members and interns to build and deploy creative demonstrations on real robots

Minimum Qualifications

  • Pursuing Master’s/PhD in Computer Science, Electrical, Mechanical, or related fields

  • Excellent software development skills, fluency in Python and knowledge of source code management like Git is required

  • Hands-on experience with physical robot hardware

  • Experience with integrating Deep-Learning based perception and manipulation capabilities in an end-to-end system

  • Experience with large code bases

  • Ability to debug complex software systems

About the US Intern Program

The 2025 U.S. program runs for 12 weeks (May 19 – August 8 or June 16 – September 5). All internships are paid. As an intern, you will contribute to meaningful projects, be mentored by industry leaders, and participate in tech talks and other activities designed to support your personal and professional development. Salary Transparency

Salary is one part of Autodesk’s competitive compensation package. Offers are based on the candidate’s experience, educational level, and geographic location, and can exceed this range.

For U.S.-based roles, we expect a starting annualized intern base salary to be between:

  • $47,840 and $95,680 (undergraduate students)
  • $72,800 and $118,500 (Masters/MBA students)
  • $118,560 and $162,240 (PhD students)
