Senior Software Engineer - Central Workspace Platform Team
PI Wealth Management Experience Platform
Position Overview
We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join our Central Monorepo Platform Team supporting the PI Wealth Management Experience Platform. This role is critical to enabling hundreds of developers teams across accounts, advice, investments, planning, and other wealth management domains by providing world-class developer tooling, infrastructure, and platform capabilities within our enterprise-scale Nx workspace.
Key Responsibilities
Platform Engineering & Developer Experience
- Design, develop, and maintain custom Nx generators, executors, and tooling to accelerate team productivity
- Build and enhance developer tooling including custom ESLint rules, linting standards, and code quality automation
- Create and maintain CLI tools, build scripts, and automation to reduce developer toil
- Develop migration scripts and automated refactoring tools for large-scale codebase updates
Monorepo Architecture & Governance
- Establish and enforce architectural patterns, coding standards, and best practices across applications and libraries
- Design domain boundaries and dependency management strategies for accounts, advice, investments, planning, and infrastructure domains
- Implement and maintain enterprise API standards including REST conventions, versioning, and header requirements
- Create documentation, onboarding materials, and developer guidelines
Infrastructure & CI/CD
- Maintain and optimize Jenkins-based CI/CD pipelines for build, test, and deployment automation
- Manage Docker containerization strategies including node-chrome and base image management
- Implement and enhance build optimization, caching strategies, and dependency management
- Support deployment automation and environment management across DIT, UAT, and production
Developer Support & Community Building
- Provide technical consultation and support to development teams across the organization
- Lead weekly community forums and collaborate on standards definition
- Troubleshoot complex build, tooling, and dependency issues
- Mentor teams on monorepo best practices and architectural decisions
Required Technical Skills
Core Technologies
- Frontend: Angular 18+, TypeScript, RxJS, NgRx
- Backend: NestJS, Node.js, Express, GraphQL
- Monorepo: Nx workspace management, dependency graphs, project boundaries
- Build Tools: Webpack, Jest, ESLint, Storybook
Platform & Infrastructure
- CI/CD: Jenkins, Docker, containerization strategies
- Package Management: npm, dependency resolution, workspace management
- Code Quality: Custom ESLint rules, automated testing, code generation
- Version Control: Git, branching strategies, merge automation
Enterprise Integration
- REST API design and enterprise standards
- Authentication/authorization patterns
- Microservices architecture
- Cloud deployment (AWS/FMR Cloud)
Required Experience
- 5+ years of full-stack development experience with TypeScript/JavaScript
- 3+ years working with large-scale monorepos or multi-team codebases
- 2+ years experience with Nx, Lerna, or similar monorepo tools
- Strong experience building developer tooling, CLI tools, or platform engineering
- Experience with CI/CD pipeline design and optimization
- Background in enterprise software development with governance and compliance requirements
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with financial services or regulated industry software development
- Background in creating custom ESLint plugins, AST manipulation, or code generation
- Knowledge of enterprise architecture patterns and domain-driven design
- Experience with performance optimization for large JavaScript/TypeScript codebases
- Familiarity with accessibility standards (WCAG) and enterprise security requirements
