Part of our POS Alliance, our App Foundation Team empowers the Point-of-Sale experience by providing a robust architecture, a scalable infrastructure, and seamless user experiences. Our core mission consists in enabling our product teams to consistently deliver high-quality and innovative solutions that meet our customers' evolving needs.

Your way to impact

In this role, you'll have the opportunity to collaborate with a diverse group of talented individuals dedicated to enhancing our customers' daily experiences. Your contributions will be instrumental in developing tailored solutions for our merchants while helping our team be recognized as a catalyst for innovation and excellence in app development.

Furthermore, you'll have chances to work closely with various teams and iOS developers throughout our entire iOS Chapter. This could involve engaging in code reviews, brainstorming sessions, mob programming (which we're big fans of), participating in our hack-weeks to launch disruptive innovations, and so much more.

Your day-to-day

  • Design, build, deploy, and maintain engaging customer experiences on the iOS Platform.

  • Manage the infrastructure required for the app development as well as the native application release in different flavours (internal/external).

  • Identify and resolve bottlenecks, improving code efficiency and implementing practices for memory management and resource utilization.

  • Ensure that apps adhere to security best practices and standards.

  • Provide technical guidance and support to other teams working on app development to adopt the best practices and stay updated on the latest technologies and trends.

  • Collaborate with other engineers on the team (Java Backend, Web, Android and QA) as well as Product and Design with the shared ambition to deliver a World-class experience.

  • Continuously raise the bar on the quality and customer focus in the products we develop.

  • Experiment and learn about design, technology, and processes.

What you need to succeed

  • Solid experience in iOS development, with a good knowledge of Objective C and Swift.

  • Familiarity with iOS SDK and various Apple's frameworks and understand how to leverage them effectively to build robust iOS applications.

  • Proficiency with modern concurrency paradigms like Combine and Structured Concurrency.

  • Understanding of common architectural patterns such as MVVM (Model-View-ViewModel).

  • Proficiency with version control systems like Git.

  • Experience with RESTful APIs, JSON parsing, and data serialisation formats like Protobuf.

  • Strong debugging skills to identify and fix bugs, memory leaks, and other issues.

  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and automation tools like Jenkins or Fastlane to streamline the build, test, and deployment process.

  • Commitment to writing clean, maintainable code with a focus on code quality and experience with unit testing, integration testing, and UI testing.

  • High analytical, innovative, and able to think strategically and to develop comprehensive, detailed specifications.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
