Your New Role… 
As a key member of the Content COE FP&A team, this posiiton is responsible for managing the consolidation and by-title reporting process as well as the ultimates process and film cost accounting for Television Product produced or acquired by Warner Bros. Television and HBO/Max according to Film Accounting Standards ASC 926 for the planning cycles (Budget, Forecast, Monthly Update).  

Partner with key stakeholders across Warner Bros Discovery, including Television Finance Group, Television Production, Worldwide Television Distribution, Turner Networks, HBO, and Max to calculate Television film costs and related financial impacts of producer deals, co-financing arrangements and changes in television production strategy.  

Television Ultimates and film cost accounting 

Manage ultimates process for Television series produced or acquired by Warner Bros. Television and HBO/Max including review and analysis and communication with BU’s for updates 

Perform film cost accounting calculations for all planning cycles 

Prepare and review film cost analysis for Television Product 

Analyze impact of ultimate changes on quarterly and annual gross profit results 

Analyze the ultimate submissions for all cycles (budget, forecast and actuals) from the business units in preparation for costing 

Determines appropriate film cost calculation during the planning cycles to ensure that appropriate film amortization, participation and residual expense is computed on appropriate Television titles 

Prepares journal entries plan periods for any adjustments needed to ultimates costing 

Maintain and update the Master File of Ultimate Title Listing 

Set up attributes including status of titles and costing attributes 

Responsible for preparation of the Ultimates layouts and all support functions to prepare the system for Ultimates submission 

Provide commentary to senior management on variances vs. prior forecasts, prior year and budget for all planning cycles. 

Communicate risks and opportunities to senior management 

Support greenlights, renewals, and ROI calculations 

Assist the WB Studio business units request to provide pro-forma analysis and  support strategic decisions 

Planning Cycle / Financial Reporting 

Work with key stakeholder in WB Studios, Networks, HBO and Max 

Assist in review of the assumptions and instructions for Television Product across all planning cycles 

Respond to inquiries from business units finance personnel as well as management from WB Studios, Networks, HBO and Max 

Analyze the TV Long Sheets submitted by the TV Production Business Unit 

Maintain episodic delivery/completion data for titles in production 

Assist in the preparation of the TV Production COC’s for all planning cycles 

Prepares es journal entries for plan periods for any adjustments needed to plan cycles 

Determines MPM attributes and ensures they are updated/maintained in SAP 

Review BU entries for Airlines, Canada and Sister company sales 

Business Unit Analysis and Business Decision Support 

Assist the WB Studio business units request to provide ultimates and financials for plan cycles 

Assist the DTC business unit to provide ultimates and any financial information needed for plan cycles  

MUST HAVE:

  • Advanced proficiency in Excel required (creating spreadsheets, pivot tables, v-lookups, macros) 
  • SAP BW/BPS experience preferred 
  • Strong analytical and logic skills including ability to grasp the “big picture” while also maintaining strong detail orientations  
  • Must have effective writing and verbal communication skills 
  • Thorough knowledge of accounting principles and practices (GAAP) and financial statements 
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel required 

EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum of 5-7 years’ experience in an accounting/forecasting or related environment required 
  • Previous experience in public accounting and/or the entertainment industry preferred 
  • BA/BS degree in Accounting/Finance/Business or related field required
