Position Summary

The Senior Executive Assistant provides high-level administrative and strategic support to the Chief Financial Officer, serving as a trusted partner in managing the day-to-day operations of the Finance organization. This role requires exceptional judgment, discretion, and the ability to operate in a fast-paced, highly regulated environment. The position plays a critical role in enabling the CFO’s effectiveness by anticipating needs, managing complex priorities, and facilitating communication across executive leadership, the Board, investors, and external stakeholders.

Responsibilities

Executive Support & Strategic Partnership

  • Act as a gatekeeper and strategic partner to the CFO, managing priorities, time, and competing demands.

  • Anticipate needs and proactively resolve issues to optimize executive efficiency.

  • Support CFO in decision-making by organizing information, tracking key initiatives, and ensuring follow-through.

Calendar & Meeting Management

  • Manage a highly complex and dynamic calendar, including internal/external meetings, Board meetings, earnings cycles, and regulatory deadlines.

  • Prioritize scheduling based on business impact and urgency.

Board & Investor Relations Support

  • Maintain strict confidentiality around financial results, earnings, and strategic initiatives.

  • Assist IR in planning and execution of earnings calls, investor meetings, and industry conferences.

Communication & Stakeholder Management

  • Serve as a liaison between the CFO and senior leadership, Board members, regulators, and external partners.

  • Draft and manage high-level communications on behalf of the CFO.

  • Ensure alignment and coordination across Finance, Accounting, Treasury, FP&A, and other business units.

Operational & Administrative Excellence

  • Manage travel arrangements, expense reporting, and logistics with precision and efficiency.

  • Maintain organized records, files, and documentation in compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.

Confidentiality & Compliance

  • Handle sensitive financial, personnel, and strategic information with the highest level of discretion.

  • Ensure adherence to corporate governance standards and regulatory requirements typical of a publicly traded utility.

Required/Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree

  • 6 years related work experience

  • In lieu of Bachelor's degree and 6 years of related work experience listed above, High School/GED degree AND 10 years of related work experience

Desired Qualifications

  • Finance degree preferred

  • 8–12+ years of executive administrative experience supporting C-suite leaders, preferably in a publicly traded company.

  • Prior experience supporting a CFO, Finance executive, or within a regulated industry (utilities, energy, or similar) strongly preferred.

  • Experience interacting with Boards of Directors and investor relations processes.

Skills & Competencies

  • Exceptional organizational, time management, and prioritization skills.

  • Strong business acumen, particularly in finance-related functions.

  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (especially Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel).

  • Ability to manage multiple high-priority tasks under tight deadlines.

  • High emotional intelligence and ability to work with senior executives and diverse stakeholders.

  • Strong problem-solving skills and proactive mindset.
