What you will do

The Project Development Engineer, a key role in JCI’s Energy Solutions Engineering team, is directly reporting to the Solutions Manager - Sustainability. You will be based in Dubai to support the business growth of JCI’s turn-key energy conservation and decarbonization solutions in the ME region. As a Project Development Engineer, you will perform energy audits in line with ASHRAE 211 and other applicable standards, determine energy conservation and facility improvement measures, savings and costing calculations, energy modeling, preparing techno-commercial documentation, and supporting sales activities for delivering of tailored turn-key solutions to our clients that are improving energy efficiency, reducing utility energy costs and reducing carbon emission. As a part of JCI’s Energy Solutions Engineering team you will be working closely with JCI’s sales team and operation teams, as well as with our client’s teams, which is essential for exceeding client’s expectations and JCI’s business success.

As a member of JCI’s Energy Solutions Engineering team, you will work within JCI’s vibrant environment that provides a platform for professional and personal.

How you will do it

As an experienced and performance driven engineer, familiar with the building design and design of building MEP systems, you will use and expand your knowledge by working with the excellent team in all energy conservation and decarbonization project development activities that are essential for delivering of tailored turn-key solutions to our clients our business success:

  • Conducting on-site walk-through audits, investment grade audits, measurements, interviews with on-site engineers and technicians, and other data collecting activities required for evaluating and calculating of building’s baseline energy end-use analyzes and baseline energy cost analysis.
  • Evaluating building design and design of existing MEP building systems to determine applicable energy conservation and facility improvement measures.
  • Evaluating building operation and baseline utility consumption costs to determine potential energy cost savings.
  • Identify high energy consumption sources and potential energy conservation and facility improvement measures.
  • Conduct detailed engineering analysis including baseline energy use breakdowns, gap analysis, design of energy conservation measures and feasibility studies.
  • Preparing specifications for energy conservation measures, bill of quantities and sequences of operation.
  • Supporting sales teams in preparing and presenting technical-commercial content, proposals, analysis, and energy conservation and decarbonization solutions.
  • Supporting sales teams in preparing tailored techno-commercial proposals, providing sales team technical assistance and guidance.
  • Participate in peer-to-peer review with JCI’s operations and sales teams.
  • Supporting operations teams in identifying the performance risks and potential savings shortfalls during project execution and performance assurance phases.
  • Creating and improving savings calculations, cost calculations and project reports.
  • Supporting development of M&V and project reports.
  • Arrange quotations from sub-vendors and sub-contractors, estimating in-house product costs and estimating costs for engineering, labor, and project management.
  • Taking initiative to consciously improve existing and develop new energy conservation and decarbonization solutions.

What we look for

Required 

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in design of HVAC and other mechanical building systems and design of energy conservation measures
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet project deadlines
  • Excellent analytical, interpersonal, communicational, and presentational skills
  • Strong organizational, and planning skills
  • Ability to prioritize work assignments and attention to detail
  • Driving license and ability to travel in ME region

Preferred

  • Masters’s Degree in Mechanical/Mechatronics Engineering
  • Proven experience in HVAC design with global engineering, architecture, and consultancy companies
