We are searching for a Lead Mechanical Engineer based in Scottsdale, AZ. In this role, you will be responsible for the mechanical design of amplifier, pedals, and accessories from industrial design concept through release to manufacturing, through task management of the mechanical requirements for each project.   Additionally, you will ensure that designs meet Product Team requirements, as well as R&D design standards. As a Lead Mechanical Engineer you will also need to work with Manufacturing on new designs to assure manufacturability, and provide technical support on products already in production.  This role requires a blend of technical expertise, project management, and some leadership capabilities.

This is a hybrid role based out of Scottsdale, AZ.

Essential Functions:

  • Coordinate the mechanical design, analysis, and testing of Amplifier, Pedal and Accessory products to ensure that they meet product team and engineering requirements.
  • Establish mechanical engineering and CAD support related tasks for the mechanical engineering and CAD staff, providing technical direction, mentorship as required.
  • Utilize prototype technology to produce testable prototypes early in development.
  • Participate in design reviews for all R&D Projects
  • Coordinate and build schedules with mechanical engineering team, industrial designers, drafters, electrical engineers, project management, product management, purchasing, and manufacturing engineers as well as OEM engineers.
  • Create and maintain task management processes via Jira tools.
  • Manage and execute mechanical engineering related tasks, ensuring timelines, budgets, and quality standards are met.
  • Attend evening meetings with overseas OEM factories.
  • Evaluate Tolerance Analysis on critical product features.
  • Perform and or evaluate Solidworks Simulation studies as required.
  • Additional duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Mechanical Engineering Degree with 7+years of product development experience, with a minimum of 3 years of experience leading project teams required
  • 3-5 years of significant experience in related Electro-Mechanical design
  • Proficiency in Solidworks, sheet metal and plastics engineering
  • Strong knowledge of FEA tools, Solidworks Simulation preferred
  • Design, analysis and problem solving skills sufficient to design
  • Good understanding of electronic circuitry and PCBA standards preferred.
  • Experience designing plastic and sheet metal components
  • Solid understanding of woodworking tools
  • Excellent technical and non-technical communication skills
  • Excellent project planning skills
  • Musical background is a plus, particularly guitar and related products
